A "thank you" to FedEx fans.

Post by Justice Hog »

Being a new season ticket holder this year, I've only been able to go to a handful of games prior to this year.

Preseason was, well....preseason. Who cares.

During the Bucs game is the first time I heard it. Noise. The fans that came out for the Bucs game, all pumped up to see Joe Gibbs' first regular season game, welcomed the Redskins home in rowdy fashion. We were loud, plain and simply. Just ask John Gruden and he'll tell you.

Then, the Cowboys game.

Even down 0 - 7, the fans were still out in full force. I have never heard FedEx field so loud, especially when Dallas was going for a 3rd-and-long late in the 4th quarter. Us fans at FedEx had that place rocking and rolling, believe me when I tell you that. When the Cowboys scored their TDs, I honestly couldn't hear anyone cheering (other than the few Cowboys fans around me.)

For those of you that attended the game, my heartfelt thanks for joining me in making the place so loud.

Let's all continue to make sure the 12th man is there supporting our Redskins for all future home games!

That's good to hear from an eye witness. That's for the report - no BS - I appreciate knowing that the faithful remain so.

I actually heard that there were still a large number of Cowboys fans there. Was that the case? I remember in recent years it seemed there were just as many Cowboys or Eagles fans (depending on who the Skins were playing of course) as there were Skins fans. Is it back to more of a "home field" advantage now?

There were a ton of Cowboys fans there but, and you'll have to ask DEHog this because I didn't go to the Cowboys game last year, they were no where near as loud as in years passed. The Redskins fans drowned them out!

I've been to about 10 or 15 games the past decade and last night was the loudest I ever heard it.... Michele Tafoya of ABC Sports said in her notes of the game:

"FedEx Field is the loudest stadium I have ever been in. This includes The Swamp at the University of Florida and Neyland Stadium at the University of Tennesse. When the Redskins fans are at their best, there is no place louder!"

kick-ask!

On a side note:

To all the *#&$^@!@#$% who left with 5 minutes to go in the game, only down by 11... please do us a favor and give your tickets to some real fans..... You guys made me sicker than all the Cowboys fans there combined.... Your a disgrace to the organization and to all us die-hards... Please go root for the Arizona Cardinals..... because your just like them.... pathetic....

BTP, I agree with you 100%. When the Redskins pulled within 3 points (after all of those fans left), I kept saying to those people around me, "Won't those people be pissed if/when the Redskins tie this game up!"

Unfortunately, that never happened.

However, I am a fan to the end...and I refuse to leave until there is 0:00 left on the clock!
