Ok, lets get fired up over the next game. Monday night against Dallas, it doesn't get any better then this. I think we'll be in good hands this week. I almost think the loss will do us good. From listening to the John Riggins show, he mentioned that JG looked completely whipped and dissheveled after the Tampa Game, maybe getting the first loss out of the way will take some pressure off of him and the team and they can shine.

Any who, bring on Dallas, I can't wait for this game. My predictions, Portis 125 2 TD carries, Brunell 240 1 TD, Cool

ey 45 YDs 1 TD. We win 24-10

I agree doroshjt (that's twice today). The loss will hopefully re-focus the Skins.

The Skins will not be embarrassed on a nationally televised game next week. Gibbs won't allow it.

I swear that if we repeat another "performance" similar to yesterday's embarrassment against Dallas next week, I will not watch them again this season.

They may not want to throw the season out the window this early with a couple of horrible games but I would. We may have to resign ourselves that even Joe may not be able to fix the mess left behind by management and other coaches in the last few years.

I do not mind losing after a good, hard-work, well-earned effort. But this offense is not a Gibbs offense. Some of the players are not Ginbs players. I am a proud Redskin. I regard Joe too highly to see the offense play like this.

I want my Redskins to show me what they are really made of.

I want my Redskins to fight on the turf.

So, Show me!!!

I'm going to predict and say 17-10 Skins.

Predictions:

Brunell 180 yds, 1 TD 1 INT
Portis 24 for 122 yds, 1 TD
Coles 5 Catches for 70 yds, 0 TD's.

All in all, I don't think a big blowout of sorts, more or less a tough defensive game, much like Tampa.

I say bring on Dallas. What, did you expect to go 16-0? We hung in a game that we had 7 turnovers, that's almost impossible. I say the defeat yesterday was a good thing to get the team focused. They needed a swift kick in the rear to make them realize they have a long ways to go. We'll be fine... It's early. You can't judge a team until around the 6th or 7th game in todays NFL.

BRING ON DALLAS... Gibbs will have them ready to play

Gibbs and the staff will be working on those boneheads to try to make them play better, but it's ultimately up to the players. Vince Lombardi (arguably as good or maybe even a better coach than Gibbs) couldn't have coached those guys to victory yesterday. They (namely the offense) just couldn't get their act together. Unfortunately, Gibbs and Bugel are at the age now where they can't run the plays themselves. Gibbs may, however, have a stronger and more accurate arm than Brunell. And Bugel would probably drop fewer balls than Gardner. Regrettably, they're stuck on the sidelines calling the plays. Hopefully, since it's Dallas and Monday night, the players will get their act together. I'm looking forward to LA decleating that big mouth Keyshawn.

Gee, your optimisim or lack of it is astonishing. Whatever happened to SUPPORTING your team?

WOW!! This posting really amazes me! I don't mean to sound critical RIC, but if you're going to have an attitude like that, the Redskins are probably better off without you. A fan should be a fan when the team is winning and when the team is losing. They should not turn their backs on the team because of one loss. Furthermore, they should not have the type of attitude that you're displaying. ONE loss and you're ready to throw the season away? Threatening to never watch them again this year? With all due respect, but do you realize how ridiculous that sounds? Do you think by threatening to not watch them again that they're magically going to turn it all around simply because they need you to watch them? What the Redskins need is support, not ridiculous threats like that. Again, I hate to sound critical and please don't take it personally, but you have a lot to learn about being a fan of a football team. Just my opinion.

You're right JPFair, if I threatened not to watch the Skins everytime they lost the past few years, I wouldn't have anything to do on Sundays.

we finally won one last year against the 'boys. uhhh...let's keep it up. and despite the offense's dismal performance, the fact that we were in the game at all (even until the very last 18 seconds of the game) was, believe or not, encouraging to me.

btw: i was looking at the game stats on nfl.com and i would've sworn we only had three penalties.

Take not....most of the teams that won lost and most of the teams that lost won this week. You know that Dallas will be watching the films to see what the Giants did to beat us. We need to change things up to confuse them. and have Brunell call something other then "340", "340", "340"...hut,hut,hut.....lol

I am going to be nuts on Monday. The fans are going to get into it and it's going to be even louder than week 1! "Dallas Sucks!" is going to be heard clearly on any TV set. I know I'm going to be intense because the game is 2 days before my birthday. I see us winning and giving me an early birthday present.

Even after a loss like yesterday, we, the fans, WILL be pumped up and loud on Monday.

The last time the Redskins turned the ball over seven times? 1989. Not the Norv Turner years, not under Spurrier or Schnottenheimer or even the terrible Pettibone team. The last time the Redskins turned the ball over seven times was with a Joe Gibbs-coached team.

The point is, these things happen. Even to talented, well-coached teams. It was painful to watch, but just like almost every team in this league, we are 1-1. Let's not overreact.

I sure hope the Skins make a ton of adjustments for the Dallas game! There is nothing more I want to see then to kick there ass! 7 turnovers you just cant win when you do that. Bugel better get the offensive line in shape, and Brunell better stop forcing passes

I for one am terrified. Gibbs Monday night record. Gibbs record vs Parcells. The Redskins recent history with the Cowboys. Our offense. If we do not get to Vinny early, set the tone and get the crowd involved he will punish us. If we allow him to get in a groove the way we did Warner it could be bad. Our defense has been sensational but at some point the offense has to carry its load. Even in the win vs Tampa the offense showed little. I think Portis is going to be far more effective bouncing it outside, unless of course the OL will give him something to work with. And there just has to be a change at the wr position. We are all loyal to Coach Gibbs and there is little doubt he will prevail, but I am totally bumfuzzled over the lack of offensive production. In my opinion the running game is struggling because Brunell hasn't scared anyone with the passing game. We're not talking about 2 games here, he hasn't thrown a pass of any distance period. Not in camp. Not in pre-season. Nothing. It sounds crazy but maybe we should go with Patrick. Yeah he'll make mistakes but we haven't exactly seen flawless play from Brunell. At least Patrick has the arm to get 8 out of the box thus giving Portis a chance. Go with Patrick, give him maximum protection, teach him to get rid of the ball and let him take his shots down field.

I cant believe this game is finally here, just sucks it isnt in Dallas so I can attend.

Although, I am glad you guys lost, I think the game against Giants can be tossed out of the window. Portis rarely fumbles and Ramsey has seemed to not play well throughout the entire preseason and it carried over to the regular season.

I watched both Redskins games this season, and the first game, the Skins and Gregg Williams was very aggressive, bltizing almost every down. He had Matt Bowen looking like a Pro Bowler. The offensive line was active and actually punked Mcfarland. Renaldo Wynn actually looked pretty good rushing the passer in the game.

The second game, you guys just had alot of turnovers, and Ramsey, on one play in particular seemed like he was trying to do too much. I think some of the offensive weapons the Giants have on offense may have decreased Williams' aggressive play calling. Shockey couldnt catch a cold and he on two occasion, I saw a defender blow right by him to get undo pressure on Warner. When the Skins blitzed, the Giants didnt make as many plays, but when you guys backed off, then warner started to get in a bit of a rythmn.

I really like the rookie cooley. He can block and is a good pass catcher.

If the Cowboys offense comes out in primarily a 3 wide set as they have ran about 70% of the time now, you guys may be in trouble, because Williams' may not want to blitz as much and Sunday, the Skins had troble getting to the Quarterback (similar to the Cowboys).

As far as the Cowboys, I am extremely concerned about Portis' ability to run the ball and now, he is a major threat catching it, although he had a few drops Sunday. If Rod Gardner can hold onto the ball, I think he can be a valuable weapon against the Boys Sunday. Cool

ey could have a nice game if Portis and Coles takes some pressure off of him. You guys do alot of pulling mainly from the left, and if Wiley and Ellis cant keep the guards and tackles off our smallish linebackers, well it could be a long day for the Cowboys.

I expect this to be a good game. Everyone here in Dallas is fired up.

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but I don't think Warner really got in a groove. Yes, he completed a lot of passes, but save his touchdown throw, the Giants offense basically didn't do anything, other than kicking a few field goals thanks to excellent field position...

To be fair, you should have quoted the -entire- post and not only the part that reflects my frustration shared by many other fans out there.

I have been a loyal Redskin for over three decades, 34 years to be exact. So, please no preaching around here. We all have had a bad decade of frustration. I stand by my opinion:

i HATE to say a game this early in the season is a must win but......IT PRETTY MUCH IS !!!! our offense has to produce something other than the "first drive" our d can only keep us in so many games sooner or later the flood gates are going to open. hope it's not monday !!!
