For those who thought Ramsey would lead this team:
What the hell do you call his playing against the Giants?????? Don't tell me that he didn't have enough time. He did have some bright plays but if we had Hasselbeck under the center in the fourth quarter...we would've won. THREE STRAIGHT INTERCEPTIONS??? TRADE HIM NOW...WHILE HIS REPUTATION IS NOT RUINED!!!! The chances we had to win the game were MIRACLES which Ramsey could not take advantage of. I know Gardner missed that one but damn...I really don't understand why you guys think he is our future. I hate to say it but, I think this guy just plainly sucks. Does JGibbs have the patience to build him as a quarterback? I don't think so. I know I don't..
I'm more convinced than ever that Ramsey is our Future...
Without him in the game we wouldn't even have had a chance to win.
The Giants were daring us to throw deep. Brunell could not. Every team we play from here on out will stack the line of scrimage to stop the run and make us throw..
Amen....It's fun to watch him gun the ball around and make the occassional big play, but the pics, poor throws, horrible completion percentage and the inability to know when a sack is coming and to scramble out far outweigh the gun-slinging arm he has.
I don't ever foresee him starting in Washington w/out a few years on the bench.
That game was gift-wrapped to win and he couldn't do it...Sure it's a team thing with the drops, penalties etc...but Ramsey was put in a situation to win it and the plays were there for him to make.
lets see, 3 INT while only playing Half of a game against the NFC Easts worst, (the giants) and fumbling on the LAST PLAY of the game. how can you be so careless on the last play!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair, he did make plays, and his recievers let him down. He threw a touchdown pass to Gardner, but he dropped it. He threw a big first down pass to Coles, but he dropped it.
Don't put all the blame on Ramsey. He played like crap, but so did Brunell, Portis, Gardner and Coles. There is no doubt in my mind that iff any one of them had played like they are capable of, we would have one the game...
The 2nd INT wasn't his fault. Coles got held making his break inside (right in front of the ref, too) and there was no call made. That duck he threw up late in the game pissed me off, though. He should have never thrown that ball. It was second down, the man was double covered, and he threw it on the run and off balance.
Andre Carter wrote:Damn man, you know your football.
His biggest problem is holding on to the ball too long. His value is decreasing every time he takes a snap. I'm even beginning to wonder if he has the "potential" anymore.
Gibbs will be breaking down those plays. He will decide. Maybe Ramsey sits this year. Maybe Ramsey won't make it ever...Gibbs will figure that out pretty soon.

Boy are YOU in for a long season. That's what Gibbs does. You may not like it, but Gibbs had similar problems with Joey T. in his first year.

Yes he does hold the ball too long. GOD you guys really gotta hold judgement off. A rather young quarterback who has shown flashes of "it" and you want to cruify him because he hasnt performed like a probowler in a system thats new to him. Everyone needs to cool it with these knee jerk reactions. Yeshe made his share of mistakes... however if those passes were not dropped all of you would be saying totally different things about him because the skins would have won that game. Every one of you would be talking about how amazingly bright the future is because we have a good smart young QB like Pat Ramsey. Its a totally new system for the kid. He probably still has some problems in the pocket from the last few years. I will not understand all you people who want to get rid of him and start Tim H or Bring back Gibran. If they were so good why didnt the expert coaching staff see what you all see so well?

Now that I've had time to cool off I can agree with you partially. I think most of us were just really thrown by that game.
As far as the the quote above, throwing into double coverage is a "no-no" in any system. Even in street ball, thats a no-no. LOL. Other than that, it was a team loss.

Hey buddy.....I watched the game all right. Don't treat me like a dumbass....you know that we lost because of Ramsey's stupid decisions. Of course our recievers had an off day but weren't AT LEAST two of the interceptions HIS fault?? Look at the opinions of others about this topic. Most if not all believe that it was mostly Ramsey's fault. Let reality smack you in the head....Ramsey is JUST NOT READY. HE MAKES STUPID MISTAKES WHICH COSTS A LOT.
Again, it was not ALL Ramsey's fault but in majority, it WAS. Get it straight.
P.S. Why don't you go up to the Giants team and kiss them at their feet for not embarrassing us and especially JGibbs.
I would rather start Brunnel, with Hasselback as #2.
Ramsey looks raw, uncertain, unfinished as a QB. Hasselback does not have the arm to be an NFL starter, at least not from what I've seen. But H. looks more in tune with the games he has played. I'd call him a handy second-stringer.
You're right, we shouldn't trash Ramsey. He might have a future. I'll stop...so far, I don't see good things when I compare him to Mark Rypien at the same stage in their careers. Rypien, like Ramsey, was a big, strong, QB with awkward footwork. Rypien had a year of IR (a mysterious injury, but probably "needs-to-learn-itis"). Rypien got tossed in to start in his second year, when Doug Williams came down with appendicitis at the start of the season ('88? the season after the amazing SB 22).
OK, maybe Ramsey needs to sit and unlearn Spurrier, or sit and learn from Gibbs, but either way, he doesn't look ready.
But, whether Ramsey just needs tme to learn, or whether he will never learn, he should not start next week.
I really have a hard time pinning this "mostly" on Ramsey let's see where to begin...
CSAM false start cost a TD
Portis two fumbles
LC drop passes
RG numerous drop passes
MB fumble and INT
Plenty of blame to go around before we get to PRAM mistakes.

Prove me wrong in the future when PRAM starts a game this season...leads the redskins....and beats a capable team because of HIS abilities...not because of turnovers forced by our defense.
If you say that he needs time to adjust to the redskins....well how come Hasselbeck did so well? (excluding that cowboys game)

ROTFALMAO yea, the play of one guy for one quarter really decided the outcome. if ramsey hadn't been there in the fourth, maybe the team would have played harder in the first 3. i like your line of reasoning.

Are you telling me that Ramsey throwing those INTS didn't make a difference in the outcome? What are you.....drunk? Trying to erase the loss with a hangover tommorow?
Ramsey keeps his position as a backup QB. Tim practices with 1st team to get ready to start next week. Until Ramsey better understands the importance if NO turnovers he will not be a starting QB.
brunell had already lost the game before ramsey stepped foot on the field. but i suppose he gets a get out of jail free card becuase he didn't play in the fourth. brunell can do no wrong.(or right for that matter)
