Winston-Salem Journal

Post by C-Money_uva »

I was reading the Winston-Salem Journal yesterday while at work, and a sports columist decided that he would bash the redskins and tell about how they beat a poor team and don't play anyone good for a while. He seems to think the whole gibbs thing is a joke.

I read the article, and I don't think it's as critical as you think. It makes some good points, and if nothing else brings us back down to reality. The reality of it all is that we do need to improve. Our offense needs much improvement, and Tampa Bay are by no means a Super Bowl team. So, he's not all wrong. He does mention some positive things as well. The Redskins won't be outcoached. We may not make the playoffs. We will be back eventually. So, it's really not that critical of an article. And with the exception of the comments about our running game, I pretty much agree with it. What he didn't mention though, is that Coach Gibbs can fix what needs fixing. Our past coaches couldn't.

Plus, I don't see anywhere in that article where he says we don't play anybody good for a while.
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Not a bad article, just a reality check, which I think is a good idea for the team and the fans. I still think we are going to have a good season, but have to win em one at at time.

By the way, it was written from someone with The Fort-Worth Star Telegram. Go figure.

I agree with JP. It's a reality check. Tampa has a much to be desired O (which our underratted D rightfully decimated) and a good D (our offense needs a little more gel time). But it was still a good win for us. I disagree with the article about Brunell. I think he'll get better as the season goes on.

I would say it was a little more of a Brunell bashing than a total 'Skins bashing. I agree, a reality check.

I also agree....funny how they fail to mention the strides made on the defensive side of the ball. With Williams coaching the d, I believe the defense is going to be as night/day better than last year...and so far I've seen nothing to show me that they won't be.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.
