TOUCHDOWN .....WASHINGTON REDSKINS !!!!
Try http://www.dpreview.com/ they have some great reviews. It all depends on how much you want to spend. The best rule of thumb is get the most megapixels you can afford. Good luck.

I looked all around...and you want to get a good zoom. Don't be fooled into getting a "digital" zoom, that's B.S..
I have a Fugifilm Finepix S5000 and I really, really like it.

I have the Kodak EasyShare DX7440. It comes with a quality SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON 4X Optical Zoom lens and It is an awesome camera. When I purchase it, there were a couple of reps from various camera companies including Circuit City and they all told me this camera is the 'best bang for the buck.' There are ones that are far better, but I am real pleased. Check it out.

The only thing I would add to what has already been said is that you don't necessarily need/want the most megapixels you can afford.
For instance, a 3 megapixel camera can print nice 8x10s, and the resulting images are in the 500KB-1MB range each (depending on compression and the content of the picture). This means they have to be reduced in size to post online or be emailed easily. So, if you want a camera just for taking photos for a web site, for instance, and not for printing, 3 megapixels might be overkill.
