Seahawks star OT Jones reports as season opens

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Seahawks star OT Jones reports as season opens
Sept. 6, 2004
SportsLine.com wire reports

KIRKLAND, Wash. -- With the regular season under way this week, standout tackle Walter Jones signed a one-year deal and joined the Seattle Seahawks for practice Monday.

Jones, designated the team's franchise player, missed this year's training camp while he waits for a long-term contract offer. He has missed most of the previous three training camps, as well.

Jones is coming off his fourth Pro Bowl season and will earn $7.1 million this year, the average pay for the NFL's highest-paid offensive linemen. He was Seattle's first-round draft pick in 1997.

Sounds more like this guy just wants to avoid training camp than anything else. Not a real "team" player IMO.

We're seeing this type of crap more and more. IMO is complete b#ll! These guys are professionals football players and they act like they are payed like teachers.

Sorry had to through in the ole' "teacher bit". I am a personal aid for a 4th grade autistic boy, and the pay all around blows, but the experience is worth it.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.
