Is Mike Vick ready for some Football?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Vick hasn't played much this pre-season and at no time did he look good in their new West Coast Offense

He's gone 5 of 12 for 35 yards 1 Int and 1 Fumble

Should he be Starting next week?

I think you have to start Vick. In a real game he will do what needs to be done to win, and that is when he has been at his best, up to this point.

you have to start him but he may be a detriment if he can't get up to speed soon... WC offenses are extremely complex if you never played in 'em

So I've heard. I was talking to a VT alumn at work, and he made a good point about Vick. He didn't play all that much in college. He was only there, what, 2 years? And he was hurt some of that time, I believe.

Basically, he's been getting by on his extrodinary talent all this time. This year seems like it will really be a test of his skills.

um - to be honest - in talking to the coordinator at Tech, they had to run the offense on half the field at a time because Vick couldn't handle reading the whole defense... just what I have heard

He was good as long as he could run, but what the Skins did to that guy tonight would shake anyone up - they came at him from every side and up the middle too...

Yep... that would be pressure Mr. Edwards - you might not recognize that from your game plan last year - you DIDN'T HAVE ANY

I heard the announcers tonight call him the "Michael Jordon" of football.... now the kid's got alot of talent... but he still needs some work... and he's far, far from the "Michael Jordon" of football... McNabb's a better QB than him :puke:

I like Vick but the dude has been horrible this preseason. I just hope he's hiding his scrambling abilities until the regular season rolls around. He's going to have to scramble because he has NO line. That's why Demps crushed him in B-More and why he got crushed a couple of times tonight. If their line can block and give him time to pass, then they will be dangerous. But that's not going to happen anytime soon. One reason is because Mora, Jr. moved Bob Whitfield to backup duty. What an idiot. Whitfield has been a solid lineman in this league for over 10 years.

Even with his poor play, you have to start one of the brightest spots in the league. He'll have a hard time this season with having such a crappy line to potect him. He'll still do well, but I don't see Atlanta making the playoffs. The drought will be for at least a couple years or until they bring in more talent around him and better "suitors" to protect him.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.
