Sean Taylor impact on secondary

Post by dnpmakkah »

Sorry if this has been posted already. But on ESPN's website they are doing a poll to see who the fans think will have the biggest impact in the secondary with their team, and Sean Taylor is in second place behind Champ Bailey and in front of Ty Law and Deion Sanders.

Shutdown corners like Champ are hard to come by but Taylor is so physical he will impact both the pass defense and run defense, he is a difference maker. In my opinion he will have a bigger impact than Champ.

For one thing, the Broncos were already the 4th ranked defense last season so they have marginal room for improvement and therefore marginal room for Champ to make an impact. The skins however, have no where to go but up.

And the Broncos also now have John Lynch, who figures to also make an impact. I would imagine that somewhat lessens Champ's potential for impact, or at least limits his shot at highlight reels.

Watch out for Sean Taylor, especially in blitz packages. He might even take a few running QB's heads off!!!

I know this is a stretch but I have been playing Madden 2005 and almost every time I have layed the "Hit Stick" on a crossing WR with Sean Taylor it causes a fumble.

Will it translate to the field?? I'd ask Chris Chambers!

I think the "Impact" is going to be on opposing receivers when he dislodges their heads from their shoulders.

really? i'm into the end of my third season with the skins (on franchise mode - i've played every game...on all-pro) and i can't seem to get big numbers from him. 60 or 70 tackles, 2 or 3 ints and a few sacks. for some reason olahete tears it up. go figure.

yes...i desperately need the season to start

Champ Baileys days are done. Now the NFL is a Safety League. (Sean, Roy Williams, Ed Reed...)

There is NO DB in history like ST! His physical traits are freakish and his anticipation is amazing (except when Torry Holt taught him a couple lessons - even then he came back to make a great interception by crossing the entire field). He is a new breed and he could be one of the best safeties ever. A shutdown corner covers one guy, at least in the presesean he has shown that at times he can cover the entire field with ease. And he'll take a reciever's head off! Every time I see him out there I am amazed by his skills.
