young d_line releases

Post by jimminie82 »

do you think we should have a look at any of these guys?

DE/OLB Raheem Orr {Rutgers}: drafted by the Texans but did not make the switch to OLB a speed rusher.

DE Isaac Hilton {Hampton}: undrafted FA by the Giants was a surprise not draftee and was expected to go in the 3rd rd.

DE Nathaniel Adbi {Virginia Tech}: another drafted DE who did not make the switch to OLB in a 3-4 was one of the fastest DE at the combine.

DT Brandon Kennedy {Texas Tech}: the bowling ball at 5'10" 330lbs. could give us some size upfront.

I'd take a chance on Adibi. I'm most surprised that he was released. He slid a bit in the draft but I think one knock was that he is a undersized and not aggressive enough at the LOS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Kennedy is definately a pro football player. He's a stud. Short, but don't let his height fool you. He gets great leverage, forces a double-team, plays the run, sheds blocks and can press the passer from the middle. At DT, we could use him... and he'll get better with experience. He's a small school gem!

Adibi, I think is a tweener with talent. He's a good player - needs work.

Kennedy - hell yes!

I'd like to give Isaac Hilton and Adibi a chance. Both are speed pass rushers; exactly what we need. We should make a bid for both of them

I believe we have 4 DE pash rushers that are better, Daniels, Upshaw, Warner and Wynn. I do agree we need an upgrade but the names mentioned are rookies that have already been cut. We can draft a stud DL next year in the first or 2nd round that will most likely be better than what's out there today.

We could pick these guys up really cheap. I'd say do it IF they have some promise. Another mans trash is another mans treasure, or something like that. Its not like we have a probowl D-line.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

Hilton I believe I have heard from the DE guys as being quite good... or is he the one from a small VA college?

Adibi, from seeing him at Tech, was a disappointment.. I wasn't enthralled with him - his brother is a better LB and he just ripped his bicep... doggone it

Hilton was the guy a lot of people on this website were hoping would get drafted by us in round 5... Then we passed him up, got pissed and prayed he'd be there in round 6... We passed him up again and we all prayed he would go undrafted... Sadly, he didnt... He was a projected a late round 3/ early round 4 pick but supposedly had attitude problems. We can afford to take a chance on him. I personally think he will be a great addition and I think he'll be a future pro bowler if put in the right situation... THIS GUY RUNS A 4.5 IN THE FORTY AND PUT UP 31 BENCH REPS AT THE COMBINE!!!! We NEED HIM
