Sounds good to me .... I'm sure Brunell will get a lot of work on Friday against the Falcons.... Ramsey will only become better sitting behind him...

I hope we have the opportunity to give Patrick some playing time at the end of each game (at least the last 10 minutes).

I hope Ramsey doesn't take a snap for the Skins this year, because that means 2 things:
One... Brunell is playing well
Two... Brunell is healthy

Yes! That would mean we'd be blowing out other teams if Patrick gets in, though I think giving him more snaps in practice would help his development just as well.

WHAT?????????????? why???????????????

j/k :)

Still a Ramsey fan...I think Gibbs is a genius...the QB is an extension of the coach...so the plays that Gibbs called when Ramsey was playing in the preseason.........................

At east he can learn behind a respectable vet...just like Chad Pennington did. Blessing in disguise.

no, now there will be just as many, "ramsey should be the starter" threads. cuz you know if brunell struggles(which i doubt), we will yet again have a contraversy.

I commend Coach Gibbs for making this difficult decision in the manner he did. I think even Patrick, as dissapointed as he might be, can agree that Coach Gibbs did exactly as he promised. He promised an open competition and he delivered it. Brunell, while not MUCH better, clearly was more comfortable in the offense and showed signs of getting better. It's time to put this behind us, and focus on the season and helping Brunell out as best he can.

agreed 100%. ramsey had the chance to prove himself, but wasn't able to perform under pressure for the starting job.
although i was pulling for ramsey, stevie wonder could have seen that brunell is the better choice right now.

he probably will play good, now that its just going out and playing the game and not looking over his shoulder. thats why brunell won the job. he played to not make mistakes. ramsey was out to try to prove something. it was more of a gamble for ramsey. if the big plays had worked, he'd look like a god. but thats where that little thing called experience comes into play. brunell wasn't trying to look good, he was trying not to look bad and it paid off. My 2 cents

Yes. And remember how good Ramsey played as a young guy just stepping in without super-high expectations.

I think that's the master plan behind all of this. Give him the pressure, if it backfires....hopefully he rekindles the flame that got his career started. He is much better without all the pressure and I really think he's gonna learn a lot from Mark as his mentor.

Gibbs like a qb that makes smart decisions and doesn't turn the ball over. Ramsey presses too much at times and has been getting fluster. Even if he doesn't know it right now, this is the best thing for Ramsey at this point.

Gotta say, when Gibbs went to Brunells house, I was very disappointed. I figured Gibbs was making a huge mistake and that we were going to lose Ramsey. In retrospect, WTH was I thinking?! I mean we are talking about Joe Friggin GIBBS!!!!

What a smart smart man this guy is. Ramsey struggles. Brunell is starting to look pretty sharp, and surprisingly fleet of foot.

I don't think we should be surprised at all. He's always been mobile, and he's got a year's worth of rest after having been supplanted due to a "bruised elbow". He should be ready to play come Sep. 12.

Bottom line - Brunell won the job and Ramsey didn't. This will be the best thing to happen for Patrick. Sit back, learn from a vet and get ready to take over the raines when needed. Gibbs knows what he is doing and that becomes more evident every day.

I'm with you JP. I'm glad Gibbs made the decision before this final pre-season game too. It sends a message to the team.

I still think Ramsey is the better QB at this point. But Brunell's experience clearly allowed him to win the job.

Please explain, I beg you. I can't comprehend how you can make that assertion based on Ramsey's performance so far.

I beleive Ramsey is a better QB.... better than what he has shown this pre season. He was beaten out for the starting job, which I think will actually make Ramsey even better. He wasn't sleeping in class last year but he spent alot of time laying around during the the game. This year he'll be on the sidelines watching a Veteran QB who has played this game the right way for most of his career. Plus he be right beside a guy who likes taking a different QB to the big show everytime he goes
