Why was Bowen not starting.

Post by SkinFan 0-16 or 16-0 »

Anybody know why Bowen did not start tonight, Lott started at Stong Saftey. At first I though he was injured, but then I notice that he is on special teams.

Those two words, are good enough to say why any body isn't starting.

But he is a free saftey, Bowen is Strong. I figured that we could have a great tandem of hmm what is the word? Oh yeah HEAVY HITTERs!!! at saftey, and ghuys with good coverage skills at corner.

A friend of mine mentioned that he heard on the Comcast postgame that G. Williams wanted to through some of the younger guys "into the fire" so to speak and see how they performed. If that is true, perhaps that is the reason?

I did notice then when he played he got burned. However, I was also wondering why he didn't play. I figured he pee'ed in someone's cheerios and had to pay the price! ;-)

Lott played most of the game so maybe they wanted to see if he could be the backup at both safety postions

I think Lott may still turn out to be a pretty good player. He has upside and at least a good last name  As for Bowen I'm sure they want to give everyone ample time to rest and proove their worth before we finish up preseason. Bowen and Taylor will be our staring tandom. Lott will be the backup for both.

As it may be.... yet , I'm sure he'll have some type of role this season whether its special teams or something along those lines.
