things are looking pretty good for us right now, although i don't think we did well enough in filling in on our pass rushing weakness this year. I feel as if we will do well but if by some chance a good pass rusher were to get cut. should we go after him? it's not like if a couple didn't slip past us already, but could it be that we just don't need it?

I think the only thing they'll look at is depth. They've looked pretty good so far but I don't forsee any signings unless someone major popped up out of no where.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

To be quite honest, I think the D-line has already made a vast improvement from last year. Last year they were a sieve on the run and couldn't rush the passer very well even in preseason. They've gotten decent pressure on the QB and have done a good job holding up against the run. We'll see just how well they hold up vs Tampa. Regardless, IF a pass rusher becomes available I think you would have to look at him but it would have to be the right guy. Can't waste money on a washed up DLineman. I would also recommend keeping an eye on Ron Warner ...he seems to be getting a decent pass rush going. Ya never know...

I think Williams's schemes give the D-line less resistance to get to the quarterback, making them look better than perhaps they really are. But that's not at all a bad thing.

But I'd still be more comfortable with a little higher level of raw ability.

Just don't chase these high-priced waivers of the past week.

I think you always need to keep you eye on the waiver wire. We have historically been able to get good waiver talent or trade for someone who has a few years left: Coy Bacon, Tony McGee, Jumpy Geathers, Eric Williams, Tim Johnson to name a few.

Jumpy and Tim especially helped bolster the DLine for the Super Bowl... but really we paid for those pickups

They were plan B free agency and a lot of those pickups really smeared us when it came time to full free agency - one of the reasons Petitbon was having to cut half the roster to fit under the cap - from my understanding anyways...

I think if we can get a depth guy at minimum - cool. But right now they seem to be solid against the run and decent against the pass. It would help to see Daniels in there though, not to mention Lavar and Barrows behind the line

I believe that we need maybe a solid pass rushing end. I think our d-line will play great. All have a good attitude, espacially Noble. We just need these big bodies to keep the o-line off our LB's and we will be golden.
I just would not mind a solid rush end for 3rd or passing downs. We can't always blitz LaVar or Marcus, but hey, you never know.
I'm liking what I see out of Gregg Williams so far.
