What will Taylor do against the Rams?

Post by skin_to_the_bone »

So far, we couldn't ask for better progress from a rookie with such high expectations, although he has a long ways to go. The adjustment from college to the pros is huge speed and talent wise and the Rams are all about that. I expect the Rams to have there way with him at least a couple times, but I think Taylor will suprise them as well and show them that this kid is for real.

I was on the fence the whole time between Winslow or Taylor from the "get go" before the draft, but I knew that Taylor was gonna be a great Skin in due time after the pick was made. I really think he was the wiser choice amoungst the two, and he's out to proove to the league that Gibbs and Co. did the right thing and the four teams that picked ahead of us made a big mistake.

Back to the subject, Taylor has had a great preseason, and I think he will add to it against St. Louis. I can't wait to see this game, and watch his skills take off even more. So what does everyone else think how he will fare against the Rams Offensive assult? :feedback;

He will be tested, mark my words. I just hope he doesnt become to complacent with what he doing thus far. He needs to improve and bring more attitude to this here franchise.

I think the Rams will strecth the field. We need Greg to back off of the bltz packages and let something develop down field.

It feels so good to say that, "we have a defense now." :celebrate:

I think Taylor will learn quickly that the Rams are fast. He will make the necessary ajustments and continue to impress us. I figure He gets His 1st sack in this game.

I think this will be a good test for the whole defense not just Taylor but the Kid hasn't let us down yet and should only get better.. as far as the team speed of the Rams go this should benifit Taylor... he's fast but he'll be out there with some burners next week and will learn to adjust his angles. Plus if you hit them hard enough they tend to slow down

This is Clearly the biggest test of his short career. IF he can dominate the very strong rams offense the way he has dominated these other back up/wounded offenses...our 'skins may have one truely amazing freek of nature who will win us a couple extra games

Ohhh i justy realized something.. The rams is all about speed... if he gets a hit on Torry holt across the middle of the feild well..Ouch... I'm sure we all reemmber the superbowl a few years back when the rams didnt want to get tackled by the pats. wonder if he will get the same reaction after a few hits in the middle ( i hope at least)

I couldn't agree more! Then again even with the inexperience level he has in the pro's, I really feel that we won't be seeing alot of mistakes from him often. He's pure and true to his position.

All, I really want to see and hear about him this year is his intensity level increasing and that he learns from others mistakes as well. If his desire is complete off the field (playbooks, studying film, leadership skills, being more vocal, etc) as well, then we could really have the best player out of the draft.

Sean Taylor is a homerun hitter! Homerun hitter strikeout some times, and Sean will make his share of mistakes. As long as he keeps hitting homeruns I can live with the rookie mistakes!

The best way to prevent something from developing downfield is to not back off on the blitz packages. The way to beat a finesse team like the rams is to play smashmouth defense and take it to them. You have to pressure the QB and not allow time for the receivers to get downfield.

I think we have an offensive and defensive player in Taylor.

Saturdays game is a great example, he has the ability to return back any forced fumble, or int he gets. He can score on defense giving us points.

If we selected K2, we'd just have a one dimensional player. He can only score on offense.

I think I may have worded that kinda weird.

I think he's spoiling all of us... the game he doesn't have a interception or a forced fumble... we'll probably all think he had a bad game.. :(

But after a decade plus and only one playoff year.. it's about time we get spoiled :D

This Rams game will be very exciting. The Dolphins were very depleted, allowing us to be able to blitz a lot and count on the offense to make mistakes for us.

We won't be able to do that with the Rams. We will blitz, but it'll have to be carefully as we'll be dealing with a finely tuned offense. It'll be good to see how are defense does against a well rounded offense. This will be a good measure.
