Mike Vick is crying...

"I was mad, I was upset," Vick said. "They blitzed me knowing I wasn't going to run. They can do what they want in preseason. I'll see them again one day."

I have lost the little bit of respect that I had for him now. I mean, c'mon Mike the world isn't revolving around you. Just because your butthole got tight when that safety blitzed you doesn't mean he was trying to be malacious. Just because you are a fragile little girl (excuse me ladies) doesn't mean the Ravens should just sit indian style on the field and let you try to develop. You should have ran away from the safety but you didn't, you were scared. I understand he doesn't want to get hurt but the preseason is here for everyone to run plays and schemes, let me know if theres a "NO BLITZ VICK" rule. They blitzed Boller every dag on play, he wasn't crying.

Mike Vick is an overrated WR who can throw the ball.

My 2 cents

Vick isn't over-rated. He's one of the most dangerous QBs in the league IMO.

He's not overrated Dawg. He does his thing. He might have had flashbacks during that game.

Im not saying the guy isn't hot. But I dont believe he isn't as good as he is hyped up to be. Granted I've only seen him play a couple of times but his 1st year I believe was due to a lot of shock value. Teams know what to expect now, they'll have packages made specifically for him. I think this year he'll have to use his arm more because he'll be contained. I know he has a bazooka for an arm, I think its bigger than Ramseys, but I don't think he is all that accurate.

Also the boy is fragile, if he keeps running like he did before he wont make it through this season. Now if he was a tuff as Ramsey than maybe I'd say he'd make it thru, lol.

They'll look for him to run so they'll blitz he he doesn't run and gets sacked ....who's fault is that

to say they blitzed and KNEW he wasn't going to run who's going to beleive that it's Mike Vick .. teams will bring the house all year and if this is how he's going to responed then he never should have said he's not cutting his hair until he wins a SB

He's in a WCO this year. If he gets hit and his linemen are blocking their guys he's got no one to blame but himself.

I think until he makes it through a full season and lives up to his POTENTIAL, he's overrated. He won't prove squat to me unless he can bring his team to the next level for a full season.

What has he done the past two years? He's shown flashes of brilliance but if you can't stand the test of time, what's his worth? Can you rely on him to carry your team? When he does it consistently, I'll be happy for him.

Let me add to that with what Greg Williams said in his interview on Redskins.com today:

The remarkable thing about the athletes at this level is that everybody sees their athletic ability. But to me, what's more remarkable are the players who go out there Sunday after Sunday after Sunday. They're able to recuperate with their bodies the next week. If you're not available, you're not a NFL player. So for young guys, that's the hardest thing they have to do when they come through a tough training camp. They have to fight through the injuries and the soreness. Is the body built well enough that it can take the wear and tear of a 20-plus game season? This year, for us, it's 21 games. We've got some young guys who have shown some things, but they have to be on the field. It's a game of attrition that way."

I think that says it all regarding Vick. I'd love to see him live up to his potential but he's got to stay healthy.

well, let's see what's he's done in the past two years...well, he was hurt most of last year (3-1 in the games he played) and the year before WAS 2002...when he took the sorry falcons into lambeau field, in the playoffs, and beat the packers (the first team to EVER beat the packers at home in the playoffs)...so he's certainly proved something but i do agree he needs to be healthy for his team...

I followed Vick during his 2002 year and Im sorry but he was hurt a lot. Most of it was nagging things, soreness, bruises. But it all came from him running the ball too much. Im saying that if he continues that habit he's not ever going to be very healthy.

Yeah he still played through it. He has a young body. I think his biggest problem is he goes for TDs, if he would only go for 1st downs he would be alot less prone to injury. When them bones start to get old he will learn one way or another.

Kordell aka "slash" started losing when he tried to stay in the pocket.

I personally think Kordell is faster than Vick.

I think we wouldn't call him overrated if he were in Burgundy and gold, eh guys?

Anyway, in time, we will find out if he is in fact overrated. We could say the same things about Patrick and Markm but it's still too soon to determine that.

Side question: Is it true he said he wouldn't cut his hair 'til he won a Superbowl?

Saw footage on NFL Network of him saying something about getting hurt last year right after cutting his hair. Didn't sound quite as difinitive as the media have made it sound, but he said it.

Well, Ramsey isn't overrated because nobody has overrated him, lol. Nobody said he was going to light the league up, and he hasn't.

People say Vick is the best in the league. I can't understand how so many people can say that when he has yet to play for an entire season. He has the potential to be, but potential means jack ****. Michael Westbrook had potential. Desmond Howard had potential. LOL. I think Vick may reach his potential but until he does, he's overrated. Farve, Peyton, McNair, are the true QB's.

he actually missed a week in 02.

but, vick single handedly took atl to the post season that year. the same would have played out last year if the injury hadn't happened. the guys not overrated. maybe injury prone because of the way he plays, but by no means overrated, thats two different terms. when he's out there healthy, there isn't a better player in the league, other than maybe ray lewis. defenses fear mike vick. plain and simple. i can't begin to fathom how thats overrated. if your D has to game plan around a single player, then he is the real deal, and by no means overrated.

Yes, but you obviously dont read my posts. You just see "Vick is overrated and skip the rest of my post". I gave the man his respect and props. BUT all Im trying to say is, until he doesn't it consistently, he has not lived up to the hype.
