New England vs. Philadelphia

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

New England vs. Philadelphia

Post by 1niksder »

Patriots 24, Eagles 6
Aug. 13, 2004

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) Another game, another solid performance for Tom Brady - even if it was just an exhibition.

On a rainy Friday night when controversial stars made their debuts with new teams, Terrell Owens with Philadelphia and Corey Dillon with New England, the two-time Super Bowl MVP was steady in a 24-6 win over the Eagles.

What a painful game to watch. Philly had tons of penalties and many many players went down to (I believe) minor injuries.

I love Jaworski, but when he's in the booth for a game I want to strangle him. Backup saftey Quintin Mikell tore his ACL(supposedly) and Bruce Perry dislocated his shoulder.

For positives, The Diggler had some nice punts (even if Bartrum had an awful night longsnapping). Reno Mahe did a wonderful job. He's got the #3 RB spot locked up.

The penalties weren't as bad as last year's preseason game against the Pats. Still, over 20 called in the game on both teams.

I agree. I was really impressed with the hussle and play of Mahe. The kid has a future, I think.

I was saying that last preseason, but nobody listens. :(

Not you, obviously. I mean other people. :)

I know you guys care, so here's the latest update on these guys. Mikell sprained his knee, he'll be fine. Perry had shoulder surgery and will be out for the year.
