So everyone...we beat a GOOD team. How do you feel?
I feel pumped. I'm ready to watch another win on Saturday, aren't you? 8)

Our offense was...good...at least it didn't get worn down, actually it got better as the game wore on.

Our defense...could have been better, terrible against the run and bootlegs. But our d-backs and corners looked better than great though.

Overall,it was quite a way to start the season. :)

P.S. The worst part,was losing Jansen. :x

You must be joking. They walked on us!! The total yards at one time were 260 something to about 60. Our offense is not up to speed and the defense wasnt much better. We lost our best olineman but not to fear it is way too early for the players to play well. This team will be good but it will take time and as fans we must be patient!!!

Our first and second team offenses didn't look good - Denver dropped about 400 passes and our kickoff coverage was less than stellar.

Happy with a win but we have a lot of work to do and unfortunately without Jansen. I would take Jansen and a loss anyday.

Obviously we still have some work to do.

They would've had many more yards on the ground as well, but they had dopes on their OL that kept holding.

I look forward to seeing the improvements they make between now and Saturday. THAT will be the big difference here.

Gibbs called a hell of a game, though, didn't he?

Now we know what Gibbs meant when he said the offense was "rough" in practice!!

That might be because you have the worst special teams coach ever. The man was flat out awful in Philly.

I can see why he left being the worst special teams coach ever off his bio, and put in this paragraph instead.
During Smith's stay in Buffalo, the Bills' special teams prospered. His unit finished third in the league in kickoff coverage in 2003 and finished in the Top 10 in field goal percentage, points per game and both gross and net punt averages.

Gibbs actually told a local reporter that he wasn't letting anyone get a glimpse of the offense we will run in the regular season. So don't expect to see it play out quite this way in the regular season. I am bummed about Jon Jansen too. Preseason games are really making me nervous. Last year Brandon Noble this year The Rock. Not good! Not good at all.
Sean Springs and Sean Taylor looked promising however.

How would you rate him as a Skins coach so far? :)

Joe Gibbs did the best he could keeping in mind the objectives of a preseason game. Now we know what "rough" means. I felt that during the TV post-game interview he was concerned about the status of the team and the loss of R. Jansen with good reasons on both sides.

On the good side:

1. Sean Taylor did what many of us hoped he would. Excellent.

2. Hasselback looked good.

3. Joe managed to call a great game that we would and should have lost with about any other coach.

4. I liked the use of our traditional Redskins plays balancing the run and pass.

On the negative side:

1. We lost our best O-Lineman.

2. Our two potential starters at QB looked very bad.

3. The O-Line is not opening holes for Portis.

4. Our special teams have a looong way to go.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Oh come on GF, letting the opposing team start on or about the 30 to 40 yard line isn't that bad. LOL Seriously I'm sure this is an issue the coaching staff will address this week.

I'd say it looks all too familiar.

And our returns weren't really any better than our coverage. But! It's the first of 5 preseason games, and I'm looking forward to seeing thing progress (for a change).

I'm just saying you might want to prepare yourselves. There will come a time during the season when you'll want to kick your TV because they're showing him chew an entire pack of gum while he claps his hands like a first base coach after his coverage team got ripped to shreds.

Yeah, we had our moments on both sides. I think overall both teams first offense looked terrible. I dont know if it was the game or the alcohol but the latter part of the game was really exciting. All these guys on defense i had never heard of making plays. Who's this guy campbell. He was the top defensive guy for the game. I think that we've got a lot to work on this week. I hope that they are flying home now and working tommorow. 2 a days.

I think we did well in this "scrimmage", considering the fact that we are implementing a new "retro" system. The team will come around over the next few weeks, and it is apparent Joe ain't showing his hand.

Was it just me our did we only use like, two formations on offense? Can somone please explain what we were running last night?
Back and better than ever!
