Q-less Cowboys

How will the Cowboys be with Vinny at QB?

A better team. Less QB errors. More focused on ball control.

Q-less Cowboys

Post by Justice Hog »

Now that Q is likely headed for the Betty Ford clinic, I was wonderin': How do you think will be with VT at the helm?

I voted for "A worse team. Less mobile, old, "has been" QB.", but I still believe that choice A's "Less QB errors. More focused on ball control" will also be true. They will still suck this season, just with less QB errors, until Vinny goes down in week three and Drew Henson has to start.

in Vinny and so do I

I think Quincy's release will make it interesting. I don't agree that they're a better team, but I do believe that they will be more focused. There's no longer a "QB Battle" because the team knows outright who the starter will be come opening day, no more worries about QC screwing up. BP will play to the strengths of Vinny, and the team will rally around that.

It'll be interesting to see the girls and how they handle the situation. All Cowgirls hatred aside, let us not forget that their coach over there ain't no pushover, and he, like our very own J. Gibbs, knows how to bring out the best in what he's working with.

With that said.....

How can you say losing Quincy makes them a better team? If Parcells thought Testaverde gave them a better chance to win, then he would have started and Quincy, a playoff quarterback, could have been a very adequate backup. As it is, you are left with no choice but to start Vinny and now have two backups who havent taken an NFL snap.

No matter how you spin this, it can't be a good thing for the Cowboys...

What does Miami at NE have to do with Vinny? Did he get traded?
Besides this is apples anf oranges, anyway. The Jets actually had offensive weapons last season, Dallas didn't.

Maybe if you overlook it again. It is a comparision of 4 opponents that the Cowboys and Jets faced. Both at the same places. This year he will have better WR's, Better TE's, Better Lineman, Better Defense, and i am going out on a limb here Better running game.

WOW JSPB22 you never cease to amaze me. The Jets had hurt WR's and hurt Offensive line, and there defense ranked in the 20's.

Maybe you should overlook it again, and then tell me how Miami at NE is relevent to your argument? And I was refering to the OFFENSES not the defenses.

I was really hoping that you JSPB would say hummm he is comparing Vinny To QC and maybe the Miami at NE should have been Jets at NE.....since i did post under it the stats Vinny had. to quote Homer Simpson " D'OH" . But i understand if you need me to break it down for you.

Ol Vinny's been around the block and is a fine QB. The only problem is that neither of his backups have yet to take an NFL snap. At his age, Vinny can't weather a whole season on his own so I'm seeing the Cowpukes third or fourth in the NFC East.

The first line was just to bust your chops.
The second line was my take on your stat comparison.

I'm with you JSPB22, I see a similar LaVar Arrington-delivered fate for Vinny as our 'boy Troy had a few years back. And week three might just be it...

It could happen. I would much rather face Drew Henson than Testeverde

Please don't knock Henson. Vinnie is an oldie,Henson is a newbie. Let's see how it all works out.

Henson is so underrated it's laughable.

As long as we don't knock out Vinny and the Henson comes in and pulls a Clint Longley on our butts. I don't know if I can handle another one of those games in my lifetime.
