I really like Champ but i truly feel that we need to attempt to make him look ordinary when kick-off starts Monday night.

Champ will probably play one or two series only...so don't look for the opportunities to burn him to exist on Monday night.

But wouldn't it be great if Portis juked him for a TD on the first series?

Hell yeah...I would love it more if one of our WRs (4th or 5th on the depth chart) burned him for a TD.

I say test him. Its not like its going to hurt our record. The only thing is, if Coles doesn't catch it, or Champ picks it off, the reporters are going to have a field day.

What time is the HoF game? I have football practice from 6:00 - 8:30 PM Eastern.

Wouldn't it be even funnier if Champ picked off a pass and took it to the house!

Ok just kidding...I don't think you'll see much of either Monday Night.

More than anything I would like to see Portis run rampant and the Broncos to have negative rushing yards. Yeah right, you can just plug anyone in their system! I don't care what Champ does as long as their secondary is bad. This will just prove what an idiot Len Pasquerelli is!

THey have Champ and Lynch...sorry but that's not a bad start for a secondary.

Gibbs couldn't care less about showing up Denver, beating Bailey for a score or even whether he wins. It's back to the old days, guys. Preseason football, to Gibbs, is an opportunity to see who stays and who goes for the initial cuts. It's a full-pads practice. Don't look for any serious scheming. It's essentially a tryout for three dozen people.

I agree with you TC West. Coach Gibbs even said a few weeks ago that he didn't want to have this game, but since he got it he will treat it as a scrimage.

Don't get me wrong though. I would love to see Champ get burned by Cliff Russell for a touchdown!!!!!

I'd rathter see Champ get burned for a touchdown in a game that matters... say, oh, something like the Super Bowl?

I'm with ya, DESkins. It would be nice to beat the horses in a rematch. Think about the many ways the NFL could market this!!!! WOW!!! They could even go with the "retro" unis commemorating the first meeting of the teams.

I could care less about winning or losing preseason games. Actually if my memory serves me well (and it don't often ), Gibbs teams usually did better in the regular season when they lost most of their preseason games.

As far as Champ - let's worry about regular season matchups.

It would be so Gibbs-like for the Redskins to lose every single game, and have Joe sadly shaking his head. "We might not score a single point this season," he'd say.
He loves pumping up the opposition for a let-down.
