The Wizards signed free agent forward Samaki Walker. Walker has played with Dallas, San Antonio, the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami over an eight-year career. He has played in 48 playoff games and won an NBA title with the Lakers in 2002.
In his eight-year NBA career, Walker is averaging 5.5 points and 4.9 rebounds. His best season came with Dallas in 1997-98, when he averaged 8.9 points and 7.4 rebounds.
Walker played in 33 games with Miami last season, averaging 3.2 points and 3.4 rebounds.

WASHINGTON -- Washington Wizards Kwame Brown underwent surgery Tuesday on a broken bone in his foot, which he injured while playing in a pickup game.
"The surgery went as expected and was successful," Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld said. "Our doctors foresee no problems for Kwame's healing process, and feel that he will be ready for training camp in October."
Brown was hurt last week while playing with some college players in Georgia.
Also Tuesday, the Wizards signed forward Michael Ruffin, who spent last season with the Utah Jazz. He started 23 games, averaging 2.2 points and five rebounds.
