Q: Are you satisfied with what the offensive line has shown you so far?
A: I feel pretty good. I feel very pleased with their offseason work habits. Time will tell, but right now, I feel like they're a pretty solid group.
Q: What are your thoughts about all the fans who have come to watch you guys?
A: It feels like game day. I really started getting nervous. Is this really game day? We've got the greatest fans in the world, trust me. I've been around the league a long, long time. Washington Redskins fans know and understand football. They want good football. Expectations here are very, very high. That's good.
Q: Is there any difference between Joe Gibbs now than from when he went through his first training camp?
A: He's a little bit lighter. He looks great. But the same intensity and enthusiasm. That will never change. That's Joe Gibbs. We all came back for the reason that we all have such great respect and loyalty for him, so wherever we were, when he made the phone call, we were ready to come back.
Q: What do you like the most about the offensive line?
A: Their work ethic. They're good football players. You take Samuels and Jansen, Randy Thomas and Dockery and Lennie Friedman, that's five real good football players. They're very serious, intense guys. They have a great respect for each other, so that's a real positive. But they got a great work ethic, and anytime you're around a bunch of guys with a great work ethic, you got a chance to do good things.

Q: What are your thoughts on the first few days of camp?
A: A lot of excitement out there. The coaches are demanding the best from us, and that's what we're ready to give them.
Q: What's the main difference between training camp and minicamp?
A: Only difference is we're hitting now. We hit a little bit then, actually. We didn't have pads on. There's just a lot of intensity out there. Guys are hungry. We're sick of losing. We're trying to make the playoffs, win a Super Bowl.
Q: Can you tell Gibbs has been away for 11 years?
A: The guy hasn't missed a beat. He's a great coach, and we respect him. He got us out here working pretty hard. We're excited to be here.
Q: Do you feel more intensity than in other training camps you've been a part of?
A: I don't know about that, but I'll tell you what, the coaches, they're intense. They demand a lot out of us. We love our coaches, and we know they love us. We expect a lot out of them, and they expect a lot out of us.
Q: What are your thoughts about Joe Bugel?
A: He is something serious, I tell you. This guy right here, he really motivates you. He pushes you. You want to play for him.
Q: What about the fan support?
A: I love it. I know these fans have been waiting around for something special for awhile. We're ready to give it to them.

Q: What are your thoughts about Joe Gibbs after the first few days of camp?
A: We all understand what he wants. We understand the program, how he wants it structured. So we're just following him.
Q: Do you think the Redskins are a playoff team now that Gibbs is back?
A: That's our No. 1 goal, to try to make it to the playoffs. Right now, we're trying to win games, and we know with Gibbs and the coaching staff, we will come together as a team.
Q: Can you talk about the fan support so far at camp?
A: That's the D.C. love. You know, Maryland, Virginia. One thing you can't beat is the Redskins. You got to support.
Q: What is the main goal of the camp the first few days?
A: Just get into condition, putting our pads on and trying to get back in the groove of things and playing football.
Q: Has it been what you've expected?
A: It is. All summer long we've been working a lot, doing a lot of repetitions. One thing about it, we don't do too much conditioning, but when we're out here we work hard.
