ticket upgrades

Post by groundss »

This is my first year of being a season ticket holder. Our tickets, not surprisingly, are in the last row of an upper level section. Anyway, I've heard that the upgrade process is rather slow but I was curious if anyone could give me an estimate of a year's average upgrade. Is it usually just a few seats over? one row up? does it vary dramatically from year to year? Any info that you veterans of this process could provide me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Boss, I already read that thread and it really doesn't cover what my question was asking. Rather, I'm looking for some personal experience in this matter from ppl who have had tickets for sometime and have upgraded each year. Thanks!

I understand what you're asking. And Jp said...

I got a phone call yesterday from the Redskins. My tickets are in Sec 431, row 29, which is the last row. NOW, they want to know if I'd be interested in going to row 25, in Sec. 432. The seats are the first two aisle seats next to Sec. 431.

So his upgrade was 4 rows.

You can't determine what the different 'upgrade' potential of each season is... it's always different... too many dynamics... Snyder adds new blocks of seats... but there's less availability as well because of the return of Gibbs. Snyder has now spent $100 million on stadium upgrades and a lot of that has been finding a way to cram more seats into FedEx.

In order for you to get any sort of idea of the 'new' typical upgrade potential, you will probably have to wait until next season so that you can compare consecutive Gibbs years. Until then, I think that JP's experience is probably very typical of what you can expect.

My 2 cents

Groundss... Boss about covered it. To get a upgrade you must first put it in writing that you want a upgrade. I did this the last two years I've moved up about 7 rows. If SS had been retained I have no doubt I'd be downstairs....but then we wouldn't have Gibbs now would we?? I take the latter for now!

I've been asking for an upgrade for about 6 years...finally got one this year....now instead of being one row from the top...we're three from the top....woo hoo !!

I went from section 410 row 23 seats 3 & 4 to section 214 row 21 seats 27 & 28. It took 3 years. I write the Redskins ticket office every year to request an upgrade. Hope this helps!

Seems like a fairly slow process. Especially now that the lord our saviour is back in town.

this year- same section, 1 row down, two seats over. oh well....
