George To Leave Tennessee

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Titans' star RB 'looking at other options'

Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Eddie George, Tennessee's all-time leading rusher, rejected the Titans' latest offer Monday and asked the team to release him quickly so he can seek a job with a new team.

George and his agent, Lamont Smith, considered the Titans' offer over the weekend, but the proposal had not changed significantly from what the team initially offered in March.

"I'm not accepting it," George told The Associated Press on Monday night. "My expectation when making the decision is to be released. At that point, I'm looking at other options."

Smith said he told the Titans earlier Monday that George had rejected the offer and wanted to be released. He was told that team officials wanted to "kick it around" and get back to them.

"Eddie was clear to me -- no more discussions," Smith said. "There's nothing else to discuss."

A Titans spokesman had no comment Monday night.

He's definetly on the down slope, but he still has a bit left in the tank. He would be an instant upgrade for quite a few teams, including a few in our division...

The Titans had said take it or leave it... sounds like Eddie is calling their bluff

I really like Eddie George.

His TD run in the SB is the only one I compare in SB history to John Riggin's 44 yarder on 4th an 1.

I really hope not. Much like the Trotter disaster I'm in the minority with that opinion. Here's a guy who hasn't missed a single game in his career, but he hasn't broken 3.5 yards per carry in four seasons. How he kept his job is a mystery to me. I'd rather see what Tapeh can do.

I've already threatened to put up the Thrash/Pinkston banner again if George signs in Philly.

I don't think of Jones has a Cowboy yet, so I still sort of hope he does well. 8)

Don't count out the Giants in these talks. Ron Dayne's is/was a bust, and Tiki's got "little hands" and fumbles too much.

On another note, I can't even think of seeing the name "George" on another Skins jersey. Too many bad memories. yikes.

They talk like he's going to Philly, Dallas, or Tampa. I hope it's Tampa. I believe he has some gas left. I don't want to see him go to Dallas.
