Clinton Portis Ladell Betts Chad Morton John Simon Sultan McCullough
Trading CB Champ Bailey may have been a steep price, but RB Clinton Portis could FINALLY help get owner Daniel Snyder back to the playoffs. Portis ran for almost 1,600 yards in just 13 games in '03, so if healthy the Skins get a premiere talent. I may be nuts, but I also like the Skins' supplemental pieces in Betts and Morton — both of whom were affected severely by Snyder's ex Steve Spurrier and his subpar schemes. With the legendary Joe Gibbs and his power-running back in town, the Skins' backfield should more closely resemble the glory days from the "Gibbs I" era.
I wish we had seen more of Ladell Betts last year...remember, he was drafted in the same round as Portis in 2002...untapped potential...just stay healthy! If Gibbs can form a Byner/Riggs role for these RB's then they could easily move up on next years list...but I don't think we want Portis off the field too much, even if we are curious about Betts.
I really think Rock Cartwright should be added to this list.
QB's: #12 Washington Redskins
Mark Brunell Patrick Ramsey Tim Hasselbeck Gilbran Hamdan
This group doesn't have the juice of other individual QBs, but forget about 2003. Brunell is still a dependable QB who can win in this league, but he was on a Jags team in rebuilding mode. Ramsey was in the worst situation in football as a pocket punching bag in Steve Spurrier's failed offense. But both these guys are solid, tough players whom Washington can build around. Even Tim Hasselbeck has some experience, giving Joe Gibbs a fine posse of passers to work with.
Eagles #13 RB's and #02 QB's
Giants #27 RB's and #15 QB's
Dallas #30 RB's and #16 QB's
I am looking forward to the wide receiver rankings, many say Laverneous Coles is ranked as the top WR in the NFC East. But there is no doubt that the Skins have the best depth in our division and possibly the league.

Maybe because Rock Cartwright is considered a fullback? Does anyone think that Tim Hasselbeck is a guy who can start or at least be a #2 guy on many teams and could possibly be used as trade bait?
'Skins 2005 Superbowl champs... crazier things HAVE happened!
And why should fullbacks be listed? If Joe Gibbs is planning on using the same offense he won three Super Bowls with, there won't be any fullbacks on the roster. H-backs, yes. A big, short-yardage back like Gerald Riggs, maybe. But a lead-blocking fullback, no.

Sorry, Rock, but you're out of a job.
Because last season Rock played more at Tailback than John Simon or Sultan McCoullough. He has said this offseason he is trying to switch to Tailback since Gibbs does not use Fullbacks.
I think Rock will not be out of a job. He has more game experience than Simon and McCollough COMBINED, he is cheap since he was drafted in the 7th round, and he can provide goaline duty and catch passes out of the back field....he will make a perfect #3 RB and can fill in incase Betts gets injured again.
Yeah, I typed too fast. What I meant to say is that Dallass' running game has become a joke (although Troy Hambrick ran it down our throats last year).
Absent some "good" FA running back, the Pukes are cooked in terms of a running attack.
HAIL GIBBS' FROM SO CAL. MAY HE BRING THE TOUGHNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM THAT WE HAVE BEEN LACKING!!
I don't see why the Eagles are ranked so high at QB. I'd much rather have McNair/Volek than McNabb/Detmer.
I respect McNabb because he's a winner and a real leader. But I think he still needs to show that he can really play the QB position rather than just get it done. He's not Favre or Manning.

Not officially, but if McNabb's out for an extended time he might start. Koy's got a good thing going as the holder for Akers. Reid really doesn't want to mess with his longsnapper/holder/kicker combination.
