NFL Rankings, What do you think!

Post by DallasCowboysFan »

I think it is ridiculous that the Eagles are ranked #1, I don't think I would even put the Cowboys #6 just yet but how do you think your ranking reflects the team?

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/col/myers/

I think this guy needs some work on his rankings, but I wanted to see where you thought your ranking should be. Of course I think ya'll are a bit too high on the list, but I'm just a Cowboys fan.

I think a 6 ranking for the Cowboys is waaaaaaaaaay to high. My honest opinion is that they should be around 12-13. As for the Skins, I think their ranking is waaaaaaaay to low. They should be around 14-15.

As for Philly....since they can't seem to get past the NFC Championship game year in and year out, I can't see ranking them #1. Their highest rank should be #3; however, if you must know....I would put them at 4-5.

I don't think the skins are too high at 21..... infact thats too low.... But New England should definetly be number 1.... there the team to beat IMO.... They've won the SB 2 of the last 3 years... and they've upgraded there RB position alot, not to mention the great draft they had... there definetly above philly and the colts

Yeah ,ESPN has the Boys at a 15 and the skins at 18. I don't know if I would put ya'll in the 14-15 range just yet. I guess I would have to see the teams that you think you are better than. I think we are better than some teams that are ranked ahead of us, and now hopefully with a running game we shuold win a few more games. I definitely think our defense is just right around the corner from being a S@PER B@WL Caliber "D". Don't want to actually say the word and jinx anything! Offense will be a wait and see if we have a QB, RB, OL.

First of all, the NY Daily News is not really a respected newspaper, most even consider it a tabloid that is only known for their exagerated front page titles.

But, might as well weigh in on garbage since it is the off-season. The rankings are pretty bad...New England should be #1 and Carolina should be in the top 5.
As for the Cowboys...they are in no way #6, laughable. They are boarderline top 12 considering they have an unproven RB leading the way and have a 3 way QB competition in development. The Boys only have their defense going for them w/ a ton of question marks on offense.

As for the Skins, I like that ranking... A LOT.
It is good to be the under dog. For once I would like to go into the season opener without any hype, just lay low...like the Panthers did last season.

Also, I think the Bengals and Lions should be ranked higher...those 2 teams will make big improvements this season if their QB's step up.

Oh yeah, how the hell are the Giants ranked higher than the Skins? Hmmm... NY Daily Post...ok, i get it. Like I said, crappy news paper that caters to the people of New York instead of not being biased.

I don't see Washington's "D" letting them be a 15-16. I mean you guys let Hambone run wild and I don't see where they have made great strides to fix that yet. It just takes more time!

I dont see how the Giants are rated where they are, thats a joke  And I know Dallas is rated too high, As for the Redskins, We will see when the season ends, I think we are headed for a very good season.. I would think New England would be rated #1 though, Possibly followed by the Colts. HTTR

DCF - We may not have made great strides with player acquistion but you of all people should know that when a real coaching staff comes aboard if can make more of a change than any FA. Not to mention we did upgrade at the LB spots and with Griffin a slight upgrade on our DL. But with Greg Williams I think we will be in pretty good shape.

How did the Raiders and Giants get ahead of us. I do agree with what they said about letting Ramsey start.

2 Words: George Edwards

He went from being a linebackers coach to a defensive coordinator. The previous year the Redskins had the same players (had D. Gardener) on defense and were ranked 5th in the NFL.

In 2004 we will have 2 former defensive coordinators as posistion coaches along with last years #2 defense coach (Greg Williams) running the show...throw in Sean Taylor along with Warcus Washington and tackle machine Barrow and you'll see it wont be hard to move up the rankings this year.
The defensive line is still suspect, but the Bills DLine wasn't that great last year either...Williams used Takeo Spikes as the foundation with solid pass coverage.

Will Terrance Newman be covering Laverneous Coles?
Is so, who will be covering Gardner, Thrash, McCants, and Jacobs when Gibbs goes all out? Pick your poison.

What's Bogus though is they say that if Vinny doesn't beat out Qincy Carter, he should retire but when they get to us all of a sudden Brunnell's on his last legs. How is a 40 year old Vinny more valuable than a 33 year old Brunnell? Just curious - how is one (Vinny) able to put his team at the #6 spot but the other (Brunnell) a detriment, therefore reducing our ranking?

I think all these offseason power rankings are bogus anyways... Let the season dictate it - especially coming from the NY Daily News
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

Those are some crazy rankings. Pats too low, Colts too high, and the Seahawks ahead of the Panthers?

I've said it before and I will say it again. I think the 'Skins "D" is going to surprise alot of people out there this season. This is also not the overhyped feeling I usually get. I really like our chances this year. AND I WILL STICK BY THAT 'TILL THE END!!!!

In another response, I think ESPN's rankings were a little more accurate. But sauce to the goose when THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS go into the playoffs!!!!!

In the NFC East you have to control the line of scrimmage. The Skins are only half way there. I think the Skins ranking is accurate for now.
