I can't cut and paste the article but on ESPN insider they rate teams they think are in the best shape to continue the season if their starter gets injured. With guys like Tom Brady and Warner stepping up in recent years a backup is as important as ever... and they rated our man Pat...
3rd!
While 3rd may seem okay, I think he should be beating out Feely/Fiedler who came in 2nd but MAYBE not Kitna, who was #1.
Anyway, they stress how Ramsey will be much better equiped when Brunnell steps aside in a year or two. Sounds like maybe this could propell Pat into superstardom!
I'd still rather see him play, MAYBE he can beat Brunnell still
I think if you look at it in terms of who has the best two quarterbacks, I don't think there's any debate its the Skins. Kitna and Fiedler may be good back ups but they both back up essentially rookies. Feeley played only a couple of games for the Eagles and Palmer hasn't played at all. The Skins have two legitimate starters. There aren't a lot of teams that can say that.
You can look at Gannon and Collins in L.A., although Gannon may be a june 1 cut. Pittsburgh has Maddox and Batch, but neither excite me much. Maybe Jeff Garcia and Kelly Holcumb at the Browns... Chad and Vinny at the Jets, but Vinny's out the door as well.

Let's not forget about the fearsome - threesome down in Dallass....
Carter, Hutchinson, Henson.....
I mean.... I'm not sure our guys can compete with as many homeruns as these guys are gonna hit.... oh yeah.... this is FOOTBALL

CurveBall - "It might be YOUR biggest game of the year but it really doesn't seem to be as big a deal for Dallas fans anymore."
All i know is we have 2 legit starters who have shown the ability to win ballgames. I can't say any of the QB's ranked ahead of either of our guys as backups can say that. I mean Kitna is good, but Palmer?? comeon now, he won't be Michael Vick in year 2....
Plus i think the article and the discussion is missing the bigger point, BRUNELL could be our back-up, in that case, i would say we have the best back-up in the league. For writers to just assume Ramsey will not get the job, they must not know Joe Gibbs...I think either way we are much better off than we were last year or even the year before. At least we know we have 2 QBS now
After my initial shock of signing Brunnel b/c I think Ramsey does (and will) deserve an open competition, I feel this move is really going to help us this year and help Ramsey develop. If Ramsey wins out, you have a very smart, respected veteren on the sideline essentially coaching him along. If Brunnell wins, Ramsey can watch a true pro command a huddle and sustain drives. This is a win=win all around.
