Where would YOU be without the Hogs.net ?

Post by tcwest10 »

Having been a fan of this team since 1979, I used to almost die every off-season, hoping for some little snippet in a New York paper about the Redskins. I'd check the "Transactions", subscribe to the weekly newsletter, get the USA Today for the little NFL articles, buy sporting magazines...anything that made some mention of my team.
With the advent of the internet, I was able to access the Washington Post Online. I also went to the Virginia and Carolina papers, before the Panthers came in.
The Hogs.net is simply the best thing that's ever happened to me, football-wise, and I can't imagine life without it.
What about you ?
If you feel the same, why not donate a couple bucks every now and then to keep it going ?

I'm studying abroad in England right now for college, and when I get home and people ask me what my favorite things about it was, I'll be very tempted to say "Well, after being starved for Redskins news, I stumbled upon the greatest website ever. . ."

3 votes for "headin' for the falls" within a minute or two of the thing being posted--classic. :)

There was no option that read 'at home with my feet up and nothing to do'...

:-)

I'd be more lost than the rest of you... I started the site BECAUSE I was so Redskin starved up here in the Great White North.

I picked "Fishing the creek watching somebody go over the falls" because when I saw that option, I pictured myself drinkin' in a boat watching a bunch of Cowboy fans going over the falls. No other reason. Sorry.

Wow. 140 looks, and 17 votes. What a disappointing turnout for so many apparent die-hard fans.
We must have more Cowboy fans on here than I thought.

Without this site I'd be looking towards a sports journalism career but that's all I'd probably be doing... looking.

Since Boss approached me at camp, I've been able to work on my journalism career by writing AND write about my favorite sports franchise EVER, the Redskins! Thank you Boss and everyone at TheHogs.net for giving me the chance to live out a dream!

I'll be honest. I'm here and at the Webskins mailing list. That's why I voted for "fishing the creek."

TheHogs, I must say, is much more active. I guess I'm stuck in the "it's the true down time of the NFL, so I'll concentrate on something else right now" mode.

Such as watching the NHL playoffs.
And paying attention to DC's bid for a baseball team.

June 1 will be a key date and I'll be back in Redskins mode for a few days.

To be quite honest, if there was a Boston Red Sox fan forum that was half of what this place is, I'd spend all my time there...

I love the Redskins and all, but I'd take a bullet for any member of the Boston Red Sox, and I can't really say the same about the Skins :(

That said, this place should be the benchmark to which every other fan site is measured, I almost wish it wasn't such a great site, so I could have some more free time (and study more!)
