This guy was projected to be a 7th round pick

I dont like it, there were some decent defensive linemen available

I've never even heard of this guy. Why did we pick an offensive lineman when we need DEFENSIVE HELP!?

He's huge, though. 6-6 313.

What the holy hell?!

I mean, this guy is TERRIBLE!

He's not even a GOOD offensive tackle!

24 bench presses?! That is not acceptable! Poor coachability, chokes under pressure, weak, dumb (barely passed college) This is a TERRIBLE pick. We could have had a STANDOUT defensive lineman like Hilton or a role player like Shawn Johnson... this is idiotic!!!

I dunno... I don't like it, but that is just my opinion.

I thought Shawn out of DE would have been the move to make, but... I ain't a coach.

All I can think is that Buges wanted him for some reason..

I'm surprised that they went for an OFFENSIVE tackle, even more surprised they went for this one. Kelly Butler and Tony Pape are still there amongst others.

I was gonna wait for us to take a DL-man then go for a run.
Guess I'll have to wait till the 6th round now.

perhaps they are just following their board. if you want to have a good team in the nfl its a good idea to follow your draft board. thats how ozzie newsome has done it sense he has been GM for the ravens and they are known for their wonderful draft skills. Hey factually we need O linemen also.

I also beleive that we are going to run a hybrid of a 4-6 defence in which our d line is simply there to take up offencive linemen and thus allow our extremely talented linebacker corps to make the plays.

Verm - it's easier on the LB to have DTs that demand double teams. I don't see that we have that right now. I might be mistaken. Probably am. Just my opinion.

LOL Jake - I doubt it... this kid couldn't carry a candle next to C-Sam :)

and that is even during C-Sam's worst year.

Definately is Sfin. However at this point i am tempted to trusthe front office. Seeing as they had the "redskins grade" for all these players. Agian i may be wrong about the wholstyle of defense the skins will be running. Then agian maybe they feel that the 4 of these guys are more than good enough to stop the run. Hey maybe we will get extremely lucky ( would it be luck?) and find an elite pass rusher in the undrafted free agents..

We don't even need a guard, let alone a tackle or center.

I think this is a roster depth move. I would think there not happy at the depth at RT. I know Brandon Winey is set as backup at left, but who do we have at right. There's Kenyetta Jones, but hasn' done any impact. I think Hilton might be a 7th rd pick with his character issues. Shawn johnson is not even listed on any board, so probably he'll be a FA pickup. I think the next pick could be Jason Peters, or maybe an ILB.

Tracy

yep... I figure I am mistaken.

I guess Gregg knows his own defense better than I do. I think I have good reasons, but he probably has a lot better ones than I do with more facts.

I would like to see a DL in the 6th tho...
