oh man, I just lost my voice yelling at the TV cheering this selection!

I have been home alone all day and really haven't talked to anyone (except my folks on the phone early in the morning) so I didn't warm up the old pipes...

Anyway, this is excellent! Chris Cooley is a good blocker, soft hands, punishing runner after the catch! I am on cloud 9!!

This is a great move by the Skins, well, that sets two positions. Now, All i want is Isaac Hilton, and with their first 3 picks, The Skins will have a great draft. So, Skins fan55, are you turning a sad face into a smirk?

i totally agree.i think he is exactly what we need.he is big can block and has good hands.by the way i feel the draft has been going great.think about what we could possibly get tomorrow.i feel some of these names might be on the board for us.this draft is really deep.just a few names i think could help us.dt-lavalais,sopoaga..de-adibi,schobel,ball...couple of intresting picks i thought of...fred russell would be a great return guy with morton...quincy wilson would be a great fullback to switch it up with portis plus block.remember the hit he put on miami...play of the year probally..by the way i dont post alot but love the sight..its great to be around redskin fans whot know whatthey are talking about.have a great night and cant wait for the fifth round......madman

I remember a Mel Kiper (or was it Chris Mortensen?) article about possible draft steals... This guy, Cooley was #1 on the list. He has been compared to Clint Didier his whole career!

This guy is gonna be great, he's not gonna stretch the field, but he does create some mismatch problems with his size and he has hands like glue. I am so excited to have him on the Washington Redskins.

He should be an awesome fit for us at H-back, and this will allow us to use Koz as a tight end. I'm very skeptical of the price we had to pay, but excited nonetheless...

I am still hoping we go out and trade for Issac Hilton too...

He might be "small" but he weighs more than Jevon Kearse, even if he is a little bit shorter... he's got great speed for a DE and he could really put some pressure on the QB with our block occupiers like Noble etc.

But we'll get SOMEONE, I'm just glad we got Cooley

I agree that Cooley has nice numbers and the size that Winslow didn't. He might be well worth a #2 next year and if we go 10-6 even without going to the playoffs, that pick is low 20's in the second round.

Basically that wasn't an earth shattering trade... it sounds bad.. but really going for 3rd this year to get a good TE talent who isn't a guess at receiving and won a team blocking award is a good pickup.

And we only drop back 12 spots in the 5th - we didn't really give that up. All in all - we didn't really have a receiving TE... and even Gibbs had Didier before. 3rd isn't a stretch for that.

I am just gonna spit if we don't get line help though.

If
sportingnews says he is most similar to frank wycheck!
then that's quite a comparison...although I remember (barely) that Wycheck was smaller...by an inch or two and about 30 or 40 pounds.

Amazing physical stats: 263 pounds, runs a 4.74 40...get out of his way! And good hands?

He sounds much more like an H-back than Winslow.

Piece by piece, quietly, move by move, something is happening on this team.

This seems like a great pick. I'll have to read up on him, but that comparision speaks volumes of his ability.

The standard thinking is that a pick next year is worth 1 round later this year.
I'm sure if there hadn't been a significant player like this available, we wouldn't have gone for it.
I'm even happier now!
