Go ahead...watch the entire game and go back 32 years. The Redskins have lost two games in a row, and need to win to tie the Giants, Cardinals, and Cowboys on top of the NFC East. It's tough, though: Atlanta is coached by Dan Henning, former Redskins OC, and the man for whom the H-back was named. Hening had installed the Gibbs / Henning offense in Atlanta, and they have Gerald Riggs running the plays designed for John Riggins. This season, the first Gibbs team began to break down...George Starke, Joe Washington, Mark Murphy, Charlie Brown, and Jeff Bostic are out with injuries. Riggins is 35 years old.

With Starke out, Joe Bugel and Joe Gibbs have to juggle the right side of the line. Bostic was a big loss...incidentally, Bostic says he was hurt when Joe Jacoby knocked a defensive lineman into the air and down onto Bostic's knee. Watch the line work...especially Grimm and Jacoby on the left side. See why this is The Hogs Net.

There is plenty of Art Monk, and you can see why he deserved to be elected to the Hall of Fame. Same with Darrell Green...watch him streak.

Joe Theismann is not too shabby, either...and look for a tall rookie QB holding the clipboard for Gibbs. That's Jay Schroeder.

This is the whole Monday Night Football game. Listen to "Dandy Don" Meredith OJ Simpson comment while Frank Gifford calls each play. The camera and graphics were state of the art, 1984...technology has advanced. But none of today's announcers have same impact as Meredith saying, "My friend Mo has appeared..." and "Mo has just shifted".

Among the best performers: RFK itself, jammed with its 125th consecutive sellout, the Hogettes prominent, diesel horns...

You'd have to be at least 85 to remember that one. I hope when I'm 85 I spend less time on these forums than I do now. But I'm not holding my breath.

I was only 12 when this one was played but I remember the expressions on Jerry Glanville's face. Watched the game on one of those big screen TVs Joe Jacoby used to plug. You know, the kind that barely fit through the door sideways.
