I know, I know..................it is still a LONG ways away. Just thought we could begin the conversation.
I feel we will lean on shoring up the Defense first and foremost. Here are some "pundit" predictions:
The Redskins have big needs at safety and linebacker, so Su'a Cravens makes a ton of sense for them. They could really use a Deone Bucannon-type player to improve their leaky defense
MACKENSIE ALEXANDER CB CLEMSON
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
It might be another offensive lineman if not I think a defensive lineman. Scot believes it is a big guys game and I think he gets another big man in the first round.

^^ what they both posted - absolutely - this FO is not looking for players at any position - it's totally BPA
that didn't take long
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
THIS... because, whoever is at the top of Scot's board is the name that will be called.

My best guess is he trades our 1st rounder for another one closer to the end of the first round along with an extra pick, then uses the late 1st rounder on a guy he has rated as a top 20 talent.

Before taking the Redskin GM position, I think Scot has his own scout team. I know he kept some of the Redskins scout team in place. Does anyone know if he still has ties to his previous scout team or did the team move on with other teams.
I would think if his previous scout team is still in place, it would be a good compliment to the Redskin scout team and make his job much easier.
Scot sounds like he's hoping for at least 10 picks again and you can bet they will all be BPA ... no matter what position

the experts may be right about which player is taken at #21 but they are wrong in thinking that pick will be made by the Redskins

I'm not sure that Scot & the FO guys can put a deal together to trade out of the first round ..
I'm very sure that if they can find someone to trade with they will ... it's what they do

Its not a bad spot to trade down from IMO. If you look at 2015, the trades were like #s 15, 17 and 23. So we're in that sweet spot where trades happen. There will be some good players who unexpectedly drop. May be one of these QBs sitting there still. And teams don't have to pay an arm and a leg to trade up to this spot the way they would for a top 10 pick.
I wouldn't be disappointed to trade with a team like Cleveland who have the #1 pick in the second round, if we could pick up a few more later round picks in the process. Seems to me like Scot knows what he's looking for in the fourth and fifth.
If we sit at #21 and draft a beast there, that's fine too!

Billings has a shorter frame (6-foot-1), but his outstanding combination of quickness, athleticism and power helps him wreak havoc on the interior. This is a dominant and versatile run-defender who would give the Redskins more depth along the defensive front. Additionally, with a need at center, I wouldn't be surprised if Scot McCloughan considered Alabama's Ryan Kelly here.
53. Washington Redskins: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
Thomas still needs to develop as a route runner, but he has natural ball skills and the ability to develop into a longtime starter on the outside.
I like those players, but not really buying the prediction. Its good to note though that if a guy like Michael Thomas is Scot's BPA at that point, we HAVE to take him. Even though fans will be crying, "But we need a safety! We need a corner!"

I'd be fine if things broke this way but McShay doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to talent evaluation or picks outside the top ten.
There's one corner I could see the Skins taking at #21 if he's there and, once again, ZERO safeties.

His picks are better than Kiper's! hah. But yeah outside of the top 10, they're pretty worthless. It just seems like their whole approach is flawed and just lazy. How many of these picks do they say something like, "Well, the Redskins NEED a center so I could see them taking a center at #21."? Ryan Kelly is a good prospect but the highest rated player on the draft board at #21? I kinda doubt it.
Which corner are you looking at?

I'd be dancing if we could trade down to the top of the 2nd and then select Billings (NT/Baylor) and then select Ryan Kelly (C/Alabama) with our 2nd round pick. Absolutely dancing.
I'm just looking forward to seeing which players this FO adds to the roster in the next few months
I have VERY little faith in the 'opinions' of any of the pundits - their opinions are actually worth a lot less than ours anyone with half a brain cell knows that the most important priority of this FO is to find a way to get more draft picks and the most valuable item we have is at pick #21 - the focus should be on what we're getting for that pick, not which player we're taking
we are so very fortunate to have these guys running things

That's fine but it doesn't make for very interesting discussion.
Q: Hey who do you want the Skins to pick in the draft? A: Whoever they pick!

I like it!
Like the trade down. I like your Billings pick. 2d pick though maybe Chris Jones (DT/Mississippi State) is still around? Re-unite him with his buddy Preston Smith. Start building up that beastly front seven.
I can see a case for Kelly though. Whatever happens in the draft this year, you gotta think the offense is going to have to be the strength of this team in 2016. I wouldn't be bummed to see them continue to improve the o-line with Ryan Kelly.
