How about Kudos' to Hopkins?
I don't know who pulled the trigger but how about some credit for our new kicker?

I like Darth Monk's theory: that McCloughan came in and had "replace kicker" on his to-do list, though pretty far down, and Forbath's struggles simply accelerated the plan.
I'm a big Hopkins fan. Give him time to settle in and I think he'll be a fixture on this team for years to come. Love how we get a touchback almost every time.

Re: How about Kudos' to Hopkins?
It takes nerves of steel to have missed a 52+ yard attempt earlier and then to make one with the game on the line. I have full confidence that he'd have made the game winner if he'd had the opportunity. Forbath always required making it to the 33 yard line and praying. He was accurate but had no leg strength at all. I've seen high school kickers with stronger legs.

It wasn’t a popular move at the time, but fast forward... Hopkins has been solid. Also in a year that has seen kickers struggle, Forbath has yet to be picked up??

No kidding. I didn't understand why, but was I wrong. He has done well thus far. It's not a done deal in uncertain terms, but he has made literally 1 mistake. Have we even had a kickoff return since he started? I can't recall one. He's been a great pickup.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Same here, I was vocal about cutting Forbath loose. I felt another deepball kicker for kickoffs because I didn't dream a kicker of Hopkins' caliber isn't already signed and playing,
The offense scores points, kickers win games and I think we got a good'un.

Yup! Hitting the long fg to send into over time was gritty! Showed good short term memory, confidence, and mucho gusto. He really performed like a seasoned vet at the most crucial of times, and delivered the power and accuracy needed.

Proof that Scot knows what he's doing. Hopkins has been a godsend on kickoffs.
Re: How about Kudos' to Hopkins?
All three of his onside kick attempts have been great too. He can't help it if our guys can't catch the ball.

Hard to believe this guy lost a fair kicking competition to anyone. He's been a bright spot in a dimly lit room.
