Hope has been the most dangerous thing in Washington ever since the day Danny boy bought the team.
We have been through this kind of retoric before. We hear a ton of talk from the players/media about how great things are going in August....... before performance can be determined..... come September things change......
Honestly, I didn't think the starting DEF looked particularly good against BAL in the first half when Flacco played. That was one of the reasons we got into an altercation -- in that we were getting frustrated with their production and Robinson tackled dirty. I know Scot wants to change the culture in making our team more "tough" ---- but getting into fights (HOU and BAL) doesn't make a defensive unit "tough" or feared by an opponent.
Hey --- it is great that people are getting along and all, but at the end of the day it is about performance.

That's for damn sure. After all the happy sunshine coming out of OTAs last year, I thought Spencer Long was going to be a day one starter last year!!!

Yes, and hopelessness springs eternal every October. But this season will be different. We can rebuild it. We have the technology. Well, Scot McCloughan does.

Still to many holes in secondary to believe the defense will be successful.
Worried about that too. Seemed like Flacco moved the team at will in the passing game last week. Its going to be a long season if that trend continues.

Hopefully Kerrigan returning will help the pass rush, which in turn will help the DB's.

Any semblance of a pass rush from the front three or linebackers not named Kerrigan will help the secondary immensely. Any NFL quarterback can find a receiver with enough time and space and opposing quarterbacks had more than enough of both last season. I think the loss of Galette for the season hurts more than we'll know. Hopefully Murphy and others step up and the secondary isn't hung out to dry too often.
