The NFL announced on Monday that the salary cap for the coming year will be set at $143,280,000. However, thanks to carryover from the 2014 season and other adjustments, the Redskins’ cap will stand at $146,591,745, according to the league.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, each team has the option of carrying over unused cap space from the previous year.
Washington had a carryover of $108,621, and because of other adjustments from the 2014 season, the team has received an extra $3,311,745 to work with.
Couple that with the fact that the team didn’t spend the required 89% of the cap over the last two years (rule is applied to a 4 year span) I think we may be fairly active this offseason??
