What if Winston fell to #5

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

What if Winston fell to #5

Post by Prowl33 »

So lets say the bucs like Mariota for their team more (not likely but not impossible, then he gets passed up at #2 (likely for Mariota to get passed up there, maybe not Winston) he wont go at #3 or #4 so would fall to us at 5.

At that point I think you increase the interest of the Jets some, the Rams and Browns a lot, and the eagles lose a little interest. Some other teams could jump into the fold (Bills dont have a 1st round pick, but maybe could offer some defensive players and their #2 abd next years #1.

Or if its Winston, do we actually consider taking him at #5?

Havent seen this topic discussed anywhere so thought it would be fun to entertain.

Just because he's one of the better QBs in this draft doesn't mean he's a great QB. His draft profile is nothing special.

No chance we take him. None.

Winston has a history of behavior and legal problems even if I wanted the Skins to take a QB, which I don't, i wouldn't want them to draft Winston.

I wouldn't pick him under any circumstances. I expect him to get convicted of something sooner rather than later. It's hard to play from a prison cell, esp. road games.

Wouldn't this qualify him as a core Cowboy?

Yes. Or Raider, or Bengal.

If he falls to #5, hopefully we can get a sucker to trade up for him. Otherwise, we take another player. Winston is not what we need in DC..... at all. Honestly, he's not a horrible QB, he just comes with way too much baggage and as it has been proven time and time again --- in the NFL (opposed to college) pure talent doesn't overcome excessive baggage.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
