I guess he's committed to being an analyst from now on. Not much chance of getting into coaching after you publically rake your old DC over the coals like that.

I thought Fletcher would have made an excellent linebackers coach and eventual D coordinator.

Amen. I've been echoing this sentiment for years. Its mind boggling he has any type of job in the NFL anymore. He should have been banished to college years ago like Wannestadt.

Yeah, you know we fans may be nodding our heads in agreement about this, but it was pretty much a douche move by Fletcher.

I heard one of the Redskins' beat reporters talking about this the other day - it may have been Chris Russell - and he really lit up Fletcher about these comments and about his persona in general. Wish I could find a transcript for you guys. The gist was that Fletcher had this reputation here as being this awesome, well loved, well respected leader, but that he was a complete phony who would turn that stuff on and off and he really wasn't the locker room guy he was made out to be. He wasn't the first reporter I've heard make that accusation.

Anyway, just more embarrassing dysfunction whatever the real story is.

Not to mention that Chris Russell said Kerrigan, Coffield, and others in the locker room were completely baffled by Fletcher's comments. And that Fletcher got a free pass his final year (out of respect for his career) in that even though he sucked, Haslett still played him in every game.

I don't think Haslett is a good coordinator, but getting into a twitter war with his son is such a childish thing to do.

Yeah I think you must have heard that radio bit too. Russell is no fan of Haslett, but he was really down on Fletcher and seemed to be saying most of the media guys would say the same thing. It was odd because I'd actually heard Grant & Danny say the same thing about Fletcher just a few days earlier before all of this went down. who knew?

Russell kind of said it seemed like Fletcher was trying to do his part to help his analyst career more than anything else. Classy.

Never would have thought that about Fletcher. I honestly thought he was this great guy on and off the field. This petty proves otherwise.

Me either. It kind of frustrates me about the media guys to be honest. I understand why they wouldn't say these thing about Fletcher while he was here playing and they need access to the team. But they've had as big a part as anyone in propping Fletcher up with those stories. Its BS to complain now that he wasn't accurately portrayed.

It would be one thing for Fletcher to say that Haslett is a bad D coordinator, or that he doesn't understand how he still has a job, but he took it to a whole new level. He clarified his comments (and got called out by one of the hosts) on the Junkies this morning:

Chris Russell on the radio right now saying that the members of the local media used to call December "London Month", because he wouldn't talk to the media until around December and start to play up this "good guy" role to get more votes for the Pro Bowl.

Ok what am I missing here? What's so bad about Fletcher's comments? Its relieving for me to hear a credible source calling out Haz.

Sincerely, why are folks getting so pissed about this? It doesn't seem much different than what B Mitch said about the team a few weeks back.

Just the fact that several of the team were shocked by what he said, and pretty much said he never once gave that impression to them when he was playing. Plus he got into a "twitter war" with Haslett's son. And he pretty much dogged Haslett on a personal level.

C00ley has called his comments "deceitful".

Being privy to half the story is tough...
Has does suck.
London didnt say so while in uniform cys a player shouldnt openly bash his coach.

Some of gis comments seemed like he was trying to be funny-ish but came off wrong.
the 85 bears comment in particular.

Idk, this team finds away to make it to nation headlines week in week out.

The truth is the truth. Did Fletcher say anything personal? No he did not. Fletcher just said that Haslett has no idea what hes doing. He also said that he would turn the 85 Bears into a mediocre defense.

Nothing personal. Its was an opinion about his performances.

Has Haslett ever had a top five defense? Not even sure he has had a top ten defense.

Haslett has to go. I said that even before Shanahan started and still people defended him. Now that we have Gruden people still continue to defend Haslett. For goodness sake the man sucks at putting together a good defense.

Anyone can have a gameplan. What really counts is game time decisions and adjustments. THaslett makes the worst 3rd down calls. Hes just terrible. I can recall many 3rd and long situations being converted into first downs.

Fletcher is doing a good thing. Stop trying to bring him down.

Haslett should be roasted. I hate any man who brings failure to this team. The fact that Haslett continues to fail year after year and has never apologized. His ignorance has brought failure to my beloved Redskins time and time again.

He deserves all the criticism. What has he earned any respect? Hes garbage, stinks is an idiot. He just does not know how to put together a good defense. And the fact that he continues to think he can do so on my team. I hate him. Thats the truth. I could say worse but not going to. Ill leave it at that.

He called Haslett a backstabber and a guy who's ruined several players careers. That's pretty personal.

I don't have any love for Haslett and hope like hell that he's gone at the end of the season. But I'm not going to pretend Fletcher is some kind of hero for his comments. It was a d-bag move. Fletcher completely sucked his last year or two here, and his coaches including Haslett stood by him, never threw him under the bus. I have zero respect. Screw that guy.

see that's the thing - Haslett has not done well here and hopefully he will not be here next season but Fletcher surprised me by saying what he said about Haslett and he kind of pissed me off by later going after Haslett's son - this was not a good deal from a guy that earned a lot of respect over the years

like you said, Fletcher should have "left it at that ..."
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I don't know what to think about Fletcher's comments other than I think Fletcher hurt himself. The Skin's defense is poor is that on Haslett or is Haslett playing short handed with the very poor defensive backfield.
