First, it was an MCL sprain on the Ngata hit, and second, you can't count a concussion in the same category as regular injuries. Third, I think the second two knee injuries were made more likely (prone if you must ) by the less than ideal repair of the 2009 injury. I still don't see him as "injury prone," as the three injuries (knee, brain, ankle) are all unrelated. Whether or not those injuries make him more likely to suffer a recurrence of any of the three is definitely a concern.

Further on the Knee.. the freak sprain of his mcl on that hit made the acl more likely imo.. both stemming from a knee that wasnt as strong as it is now due to the previous repair attempt. To me thats all one injury that is now no more prone to reinjury then the "healthy" knee. The ONE concussion is the only play that wasnt a total freak occurrence- probably super illegal tho. like you said all unrelated over a 6/7 year span thats farrr from "prone"
Orakpos pecs otoh def are what id consider "prone" to injury.

What you seem to be saying is that no 1 joint is injury prone. That doesn't mean that he isn't. It seems that he is. Maybe he can get past this as others have. We will just have to keep our fingers crossed.

It's all just a matter of opinion - and there's ample evidence on both sides to support their point of view
I don't think that he's injury prone
it's really just a yes or no answer but you can take it to the bank that those that think he's injury prone will have to post all the 'proof' to try and make their case while those that don't will generally just say "he's not injury prone" & "it's a rough game"

lol. I can't believe somebody actually made that website.
All NFL players are injury risks. The only thing that makes RGIII more likely to be injured is that he's playing on a terrible team.

First off, he never got hurt (and missed games) last year. He got hurt his rookie year (and missed, what 1 game?) and this year (and missed, now 5 games?).
Secondly, every player in the NFL gets hurt each year. Some will miss no time, some a game, some 2, some all of them. Some will come back more quickly then they're supposed to, others won't. Is every player who gets hurt in the nfl 2 out of 3 years for a total of 7 games (Let's assume he misses MN, too) missed, injury prone? Seriously?
Also, 3 years (really, 2.5) is a really small sample size to label (or definitively not label) someone as anything. Particularly something as amorphous as "being injury prone or not."
Our emotional reactions to Griffin based on how much we focus on him as the QB of our team is really causing us to come up with some incredible myopic views.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

I like RG3, I'm just saying that the people in the league that seem to constantly get hurt are the same people. Obviously most people will get hurt at some point playing football. But there are certain players who will get hurt no matter what. The amount of games he has missed is really immaterial. What is important is how much time he has spent injured and also the makeup of his legs after numerous injuries.

Yet very few qb's experience recurring long term injuries. Bradford, RG3 and maybe a few others. It's also important to note that RGIII's latest injury occurred in the midst of a light prance as opposed to getting clobbered by a DE.

So if two years in a row a lineman rolls into your knee from the side, bending it unnaturally and tears your ACL your problem is genetics?

Some people even if they get hit like that simply will not tear their ACL. Otherwise everybody would be hurt.
^^ what he said - IMO Griffin has been hurt/injured more by the way he plays than because he's prone to getting injured

Yeah I don't think so. If a 300lb lineman rolls up on the side of your knee and bends it at a 90 degree angle, your good genes aren't saving you. Its unlucky.
I'll agree you can make a case that some people are more susceptible to ACL injuries, but I guess my point is that luck has just as much to do with it as being genetically more prone to injury. Its no coincidence that so many of these guys who get hurt year after year are playing on bad teams where they're at greater risk of getting hit.

DarthMonk wrote:Griff might be prone to putting himself in unusual situations due to his hyper-athleticism which, in turn, could make him prone to getting injured.
That's pretty much it. The "prone" part is that Griffin is not likely to relearn his instinctive style of play in order to lower or lessen the likelihood.
Look at Manny Machado. He is a position player in baseball, not football. Position players do absolutely nothing that should cause them to get injured, aside from getting hit with pitches or running into a fence. Manny has picked up two gruesome knee injuries, once routinely running bases and the other time routinely swinging a bat. Most of us played baseball in our youth and you can't tell me that those things should cause injuries. They don't to most people. Being injury prone does exist, and if it that bad for a baseball player, you really have to multiply the effect for a football player.
there's no question that some players are injury prone ...
you feel that Griffin is, I, like a lot of other fans, do not
no worries

I'm sure it does exist. But getting injured playing football isn't proof that somebody is genetically prone to injuries. That's ridiculous.
