more noise from Snyder about a new stadium
I do think that in the near future this franchise will have a new stadium and I hope they pay attention to the acoustics
we need a stadium that provides an advantage, much like RFK used to - it can be done
and, it doesn't need to be HUGE

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Re: more noise from Snyder about a new stadium
It's nice to hear to him say that he wants it to have a "retro" feel and that he specifically asked the architects if it could rock like RFK used to in the bottom bowl.
It may be just reminiscing of my youth, but the idea of going back to the days of the "We Want Dallas" chant and the stadium raining seat cushions would be a nice change from all that is FedEx field. The big question remains... where will it go?
"We've already seen some preliminary drawings and I'm going to be very retro with it," Snyder said. "It's gonna feel like RFK. It's gonna move like RFK. I love that, I actually asked architectural firms to do it and they said that they can do it. I said that I think the lower bowl sections are going to want to rock the stadium like the old days."

FWIW, Vinny Cerato (yuck) said on the radio somewhat recently that the only way he could see Snyder changing the name of the team was if he got a new stadium.

I'm sure we're getting a new stadium in the near future ...
we might be getting a new name for the franchise at some time but it's not happening soon

Re: more noise from Snyder about a new stadium
I heard that comment too from Vinny, but I think it was a new stadium AND a super bowl. lol.
I'm really torn about this new stadium talk. On one hand, I have always hated Fedex. Every time I go, all it does is remind how much fun it was to see games at RFK and how much I'd rather just sit at home and watch the game on TV. So I was kind of happy to read the stadium comments last night. It sounds like Snyder is on the right track with what kind of place he has in mind, and I'd love to see the team back in DC proper if possible.
On the other hand, it just doesn't seem like Fedex is that old where a new stadium should even be an option. Seems like a huge waste.
I guess Snyder's point though is true. All of the time it will take to design a new place, find a location, get a deal done to build it, build it, etc; it probably does make sense to start that process now.
So I just talked myself into being 100% enthusiastic for a new stadium. Get the hell out of Fedex ASAP!!!

Re: more noise from Snyder about a new stadium
I'm sure that Snyder and the NFL would like to have a new stadium that is in the area that could host a Super Bowl
getting into and out of the stadium has to also be considered as getting into and especially out of Fed Ex is a nightmare

FedEx is 17 years old and might take almost ten to get another one built, so it still has a long way to go.

The true question is when that happens will it be to Redskins new stadium or the "" new stadium.

Wouldn't it be easier and less expensive if they do some serious upgrading to RFK?
Re: more noise from Snyder about a new stadium
I would hope the new stadium would at least have free water as in water fountains. I remember scalping a ticket after pooling money from my bro to buy an idiot friend a ticket because he left his at home. I couldn't afford beer and
buying a half pint of water was 3 bucks. I wasn't going to get water from those restrooms. People peeing in sinks is kind of a turn off.

That's not going to be likely at any stadium. Could always go the sink in the bathroom...

Your probably right. If it was a matter of survival I would do it, but too many drunks peeing in sinks. Next time wont happen though. I seem to remember fountains in RFK but maybe I got that wrong.

Not likely to happen... the current regime in the city will undoubtedly attempt to extort a name change as part of the deal. I also think that this would need Federal approval (DC is a Federal District, not a state) Imagine the mileage that senile opportunist Reid would try to make with that. The stadium will be built in MD or (more likely, IMO) VA.
