Anyone have any guesses on how many primetime games we get this year?.

Can we at least get a Monday Night, Sunday night and Thursday night game?

I'm guessing @ Philly is a Monday nighter. I'm thinking we open at home against Seattle.

I'm guessing Denver and Seattle on the opening Thursday.

We should open in division.

after a 3 win season, we will not get many night games - maybe NBC will pull us into one if we show a huge upgrade ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

People want to watch RG3 play. I would guess we will get a few this year even after the 3 win season. I hope not.

At first glance, I like it. Not too many tough stretches, and we are away for the first of 2/3 NFC East matchups, then home for the last two.

Six of one...
Half dozen of the other. The exception would be if we are looking at a playoff run, it may be a good thing... otherwise... meh.

This schedule has some serious wow factor. Home Thursday against the Giants home Monday against Seattle away Monday against Dallas. Closing at home on Saturday against Philly and finally against Dallas.

Lawd-a-mercy.

I just don't understand how our 3-13 team that finished last in the division gets handed the toughest strength of schedule in our division this year:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/ ... f-schedule

Big surprise by the way that while we have the 17th hardest schedule, the Giants somehow end up with the 26th.

I know none of that stuff will ultimately matter once they start playing games I was watching Bettis on ESPN predict W-Ls last night, just rolling my eyes. I also can see that the other three teams "strength" rating looks a little easier because they're playing the 3-13 Redskins twice. Even so, I still feel like the NFL is constantly sticking it to us.

Anyway, I do like the first month. I hate playing a division game in week 1 like we did last year, so opening with Houston sounds good. We should have a legit shot in all of those September games, good opportunity to get some momentum going. I'm also glad as hell that we have Seattle at home. Much different game than playing them away obviously.

Riggofan the schedule is the same for all division teams with the exception of 2 games. Those two "flex" games are listed below for each of our division rivals. I think we did ok......but at the end of the day the Strength of Schedule thing means absolutely squat.

Redskins - vs. TB (4-12) & @ MINN (5-10-1)

Giants -@ DET (7-9) & vs. ATL (4-12)

Cowgirls - vs. NO (11-5) & @ CHI (8-8)

Iggles - @ GB (8-7-1) & vs. CAR (12-4)

Nice, thanks for clarifying!

If they can make it through that 3 games stretch with SF, Indy and St Louis and if they win the games before that they are suppose to win and with the last 3 out of 4 at home and against division rivals the Skins have a very real chance of taking the division. The key games I think will be first games against NY and Philly in Weeks 3 and 4. Im on the fence with saying 9 - 7 this year.

Another thing to consider: we face the Giants on Thursday (short week) but at home, and then have 10 days until we face Seattle on Monday night . . . again at home. That's about as good as it gets for friendly scheduling with the irregular part of the year.

I wouldn't go by this metric too reverently. Last year's win percentages are not terribly accurate at predicting future SOS.

+1

Our "strength of schedule" matchups actually make our schedule theoretically easier than those of the Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles. What makes ours theoretically harder is we have tio play them while they get to play us. They each play a 3-13 team twice. We don't.

Yeah I spotted that right away, not a big mystery. But how do the Giants have the 26th SOS while the Eagles have the 20th? Shouldn't the Eagles have the toughest?
