Darnerien is a beast!

Post by Jake »

I e-mailed him last week at nflplayers.com and he responded.

Jake wrote:Hey Darierien, it's your pal Jake!

Thanks for coming back. I knew you would. I was just hoping you wouldn't budge when your agent said the Ravens were interested. Man, must be nice with that $2 million signing bonus. What's the first thing you're going to buy (besides a new house for your mom)? ;-)

I write for TheHogs.net in case you haven't found out yet. I would love to welcome you to register (free of course) and chime in on your thoughts about Gibbs and how you aim to improve your talent this offseason.

My other buddy Bryan Johnson was sent away to the Bears which really upset me but with you re-signing for three more seasons, it definitely makes me feel better.

Thanks again for coming back and I'll see you at camp and at FedEx Field!

Jake

Man, that's sweet. That goes to show you why we needed to keep him around. The league could use a few more good people like him. If you get any information on when he's going to answer Q's, let me know.

Very cool man!

Jake...

We'd obviously love to have him any time.

We did sing happy birthday to him Jake... he has to remember that. :-)

Join the board? I'd love to have him do a training camp diary or something like that. Some of his biggest fans are members of this site... present company included.

Well I'm not anywhere near the status of your mom Jake... it's not like any of us ever got him extra playing time... but I consider myself a pretty big supporter anyway :-)

SkinsChic  Is there anyone that bleeds burgundy and gold harder?

it seems like he's a regular guy who plays football, rather than a football player. and i mean that in a good way.

I've spoken to Melanie Pierce (who owns a promotion company promoting former athletes - namely Redskins) about him a few times... she talks to him a fair bit, and just can't say enough good things about him.

He definitely seems to lack that tarnish that the modern day football player tends to have. I'm sure it was his demeanor as much as his ability that made Gibbs draw comparisons to Art Monk.

Big receiver, great hands, super tough... all he does is catch tough balls and touchdowns... pretty hard not to like him. I hope he gets a lot more looks in Gibbs' offense.

Geeze Jake...you didn't even mention that your mom was having heart failure when the Ravens were talking to him. I'm sure he knew that was me sitting outside Redskin Park with the sign though. Oh...and Boss...we can't sing to him this year....remember...he got hurt that day....must have been our singing...not that we sounded like a bunch of sick cats on the back fence or anything.

I don't know Jake, but I've read his posts. Very insightful regardless of his age. Congrats on getting an email response from Darnerian. I'm glad he's back, too. As for Jake, it's not often that you see a younger person with perfect spelling and punctuation. No small wonder he's a Redskins fan.

Keep us posted as to when Darenerian will be mingling with the swine. And, again, nice job!

Jake, you're the man. that was a sweet response. i hope he does sign onto here. he seems like a very down to earth man and YES the NFL does need more of Darnerien and less of TO.

Darnerien responded to my next two e-mails as such:

Jake wrote:Hey Darnerien. It's Jake again. Thanks for responding to my e-mail. You can join TheHogs.net message board anytime you want. It's a really great place. Everyone at the site will welcome you with open arms. There are even a couple of Cowboys fans there. Yeah, I know... but what can ya do? :-)

You can post new topics in 7 forums. You will also receiver private messages that can only be seen by you and the person who is sending you the message.

Thanks again for your willingness to join. Not many players would want to.

Wow that really rocks! Jake you have an awesome future! Keep up the great work! I like Darnerien more and more each time I read what he has to say!

Could DMAC be a "core Redskin" in the making?

It is about time the revolving door stops spinning and players play to their potential and put the team first.
I get the feeling that's what Darnerien is about...plus he grew up around here.

Jake, props on introducing DMac to the best Skins fan site there is.

If Jake got DMac to come to thehogs.net, I think he ought to go out on a limb and invite him over for dinner :)

Good idea...we could have a whole group over for a cookout, huh ? I'm thinking it would cost us a fortune though...especially if we had steaks.
