Redskins Offseason Resignings

Post by frankcal20 »

figured we'd have one spot to find all the players the Redskins have resigned:

TE - Logan Paulsen 3 years is worth a max of $7M w/incentives & escalators. His signing bonus is $1.1M. The 3rd yr voids based on playtime.

FB - Darryl Young - 3 years worth up to $6.2 million w/ incentives; $1M signing bonus included

Rob Jackson - Pretty much done but will be a 1 yr deal. No terms yet.

Kory Lichtensteiger - five-year deal.

Sunderberg -

Chris Baker - a one-year, right of first refusal deal worth $1.3 million

Adam Carriker - Not a resigning but he restructured. Smart move for both teams. Details to follow.

Santana Moss - Restructured Contract saving team $2m this year

Brandon Merriweather
- Restructured. Base salary is now $1.2M. It was $2.45M.

Both excellent moves. Darryl Young was a beast last year. It would have killed me to see him go. And we very well might need Paulsen to become our starter.

Paulsen is going in expecting to be the backup. He said that the Skins are trying to resign Fred. That's a smart move that allows them to have two very different weapons on the field. Logan gained a lot of experience this past year.

Anybody know if we are going after any other free agents? Like the Chiefs tackle or any secondary guys? I know our main focus right now should be to get Davis back. I hope we can restructure D Halls deal to get him back as a slot man. I know he gets torched but if we had more pressure and just a little better help around him in the secondary, then I feel confident in him

So far, all FA talk is here say. Seems like the Skins are a bit more interested in the Chiefs RT at the moment. I don't know anything about that guy but I've heard a lot of mixed reviews :?

Then again, most people can't agree on anything with the Skins.

Where else could he play? He is easy too small fire most systems. That leaves other ZBS teams and he is still under sized for that system too.

He works in our system and is much more valuable to is than another team.

Two more excellent moves, though I'm a little confused as to why we couldn't get Jackson to sign a multi-year deal.

Let's get Zo and Fred Davis on board, and that more or less covers the really crucial signings we had to make.

I'm with you on that - keeping Zo and Fred are REALLY, really important IMO
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Pretty happy to hear the Paulsen, Young, & RJax re-signed.

Re-signing Kory surprised me, cuz I thought LeRibeus played well when Kory got hurt.

I have a feeling that Zo and Davis may want more than we're willing (or able) to pay, but time will tell.

I'm really curious to see how we are gonna be able to fit these contracts into the reduced cap space we have.

But, I trust the front office to make smart decisions to stay within the cap that we're allowed.

Hail!

Apparently, you and I were cleaning up at the same time... sorry about that. There were 5 iterations of that post.

What do you guys think about Sean Smith UFA of the phins as a CB if we either move Hall to safety or just cut him? Not the best ball hawk with 2 ints but forced 3 fumbles and had 12 passes defensed. He has great size at 6'3" 220 lbs. Just wondering what y'all think cuz one of my friends said some writer he follows(i apologize I realize how important links and proof is but I completely forgot his name...Thank you Jack Daniels) posted on twitter that we are having discussions with him and his people.

I'd say top 5 among FA CBs. Size is excellent. Age is perfect. Shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Just the guy we need for Megatron, Brandon Marshall, and the other big WRs.

I'd love to see Hall at FS/nickel CB ... for less money.

@granthpaulsen

Sources: #Redskins have re-signed NT Chris Baker to a 1-year deal on a right-of-first-refusal tender that is worth about $1.3 million.
