Rank System & Avatars...

Post by BossHog »

Today I implemented a rank system, that puts a title under your name based on the number of posts that you have. The pig references are intended to be entirely flattering, as being a Hog is the best thing you can be on this board!! Here are the rankings:

newbie 0 minimum posts
piglet 10 minimum posts
piggie 25 minimum posts
swine 50 minimum posts
Hog 75 minimum posts

When you get to 100 posts, you will be given an avatar (well actually a special rank, that will allow me to assign an image to you. The following people have 'earned their stripes' already:

BossHog 268
newshog 165
skinsfaninroanoke 134
skinsfanno9 129
Venting Hog 100

The following people are well on their way:

Jake 79
woohit56 75
redskincity 68
Chris Luva Luva 49
hailskins666 47

Those that have already qualified, let me know what you want for an avatar. It can only be 100x100 pixels, but just let me know what you want and I'll do something up for you.

Hmmm - for me? I would say the Redskins smiley like you have in your signature - open mouthed - with fangs - eating a cowboy star

doesn't have to be animated with the Hail to the Redskins if that kills the limit - just leave it on the pic as plain text with no flash :)

I sat down and cranked this (the pic in my sig line) out today in about 20 minutes - I didn't wanna bug Bosshog with it cause I know he is trying to become the new Dan Snyder   O:)

Whatcha think folx? :)

.... as I said in another thread... love the smiley... just let me know if you want it for your avatar... if you want to put it on the right background color instead of black you can use #550000 for the dark burgundy.

Dan Snyder works this hard? :-)

I bet he did before he got where he is :)

You are doing a great job - thanks for making this site the site that it is! I appreciate having a forum where we can discuss this stuff and have all the little extras that you care enough to put in here. Kudos to you and the folx who helped you start it up. I hope I can continue on in that tradition! :)

Yes - I think cowboymuncher would be a great avatar, but I will do the background as you suggest - just take me a few minutes. Do you need me to send it to you or will you just pluck it off one of my posts?

I think it looks really great! I love the feathers - you did that much better than I did - are they jpegs you put on it or did you draw them out? I love the blood on the star :) So apropos ::grin::

Thanks for the help!

I have already drawn vector versions of most of the Redskin graphics, so I just took the feathers off of one of those.

Having vector versions lets you spit out nice crisp gifs (not jpegs) which are much better for images with less than 256 colors.

... and I've got some nice Lavar pics hailskins666, so I'll do something up.

I know you're busy Boss -- so when you get a chance I'd love to have this pic be my AV. I don't know how to shrink it so let me know if it will work somehow. Thanks.

Everyone OK with their avatars?

It's hard when you only have 100 pixels by 100 pixels, so I tried to just 'capture the most' of the images posted for me. Let me know if you want them changed. I'll look for a game shot of Lavar that looks ok at 100x100 hailskins666.

I wish I could say it is just mine - I came up with the idea and the base image, but Bosshogmeister really spruced it up :)

I am thinking about making a few more for other teams... but I will have to play with the designs. Anyone interested in the same thing but for the bEagles or the Jints? :)

Jake - congrats on reaching 100... let me know what you want for your avatar

Others moving up the charts...

redskincity 85
Texas Hog 75
Chris Luva Luva 55
learnnew 54

Gonna add a new 'bonus' too... right now you get a 100x100 avatar, but if you get to 500 posts, i'll make it 100x200. That'll give you something new to shoot for. might seem like a lot, but the board just started, so once it's ben up for a while, people will be getting there.

350 for the BossMan.. catch me if you can.

Congrats to a very talkative texas hog who soared into avatar land this week. (Don't think I didn't notice some of those cheesy board sl*t posts.) What do you want for your avatar?

Jake buddy, still waiting to hear what you want for your avatar.

Moving up the board...

redskincity 89
Chris Luva Luva 62
learnnew 54

Congrats everyone and keep on posting. You don't have to wait for threads or just post replies you know... feel free to start your own.

We're all family.

Jake's new avatar

Post by admin »

Just a note about Jake's new avatar....

The pic is of his niece Madison... SkinsChic's granddaughter.

Congrats to both Jake and SkinsChic for the latest addition to the Hoglet family.
