Jammal Brown to PUP after hip surgery?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/foo ... sports_pop
Didn't see this elsewhere on here. Looks like he had hip surgery on Thursday and will miss 4-6 weeks (if he ever makes it back.)
Go Team Polumbus!

I hope he does not take a spot EVEN in the PUP list if ANYBODY else can legitimally take it. Too bad but it is time to let go. Time to retire.Hooligan wrote:http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/post/redskins-tackle-jammal-brown-undergoes-hip-surgery/2012/08/27/546a8bba-f04a-11e1-adc6-87dfa8eff430_blog.html?tid=pm_sports_pop

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Well, hindsight is 20/20. We made a decision, it hasn't worked out too well and there's a possibility that it still could.cleg wrote:Was it a 3rd round pick we used on him? I was excited at the time but wish we had held on to that pick now.
However, we have a kid in there that's playing better each week. And we may be trading for additional depth.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

The Saints are a smart organization. There's a reason they dealt Brown (after being a first round pick, going to 2 pro-bowls. and subsequently injured) for a 3rd rounder.cleg wrote:Was it a 3rd round pick we used on him? I was excited at the time but wish we had held on to that pick now.
Just looks like we were either desperate (which we were) and/or didn't do our due diligence (which Cerrato/Sndyer never did....).
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

That trade had a lot of conditions to it... including conditions based on performance (in the end he didn't meet certain conditions, and other conditions were tied to the McNabb deal).cleg wrote:Was it a 3rd round pick we used on him? They gave up a 3rd in 2011 and a 6th in 2012 for Brown and the pick they used on OT Tom Compton
It was a sign and tradefrankcal20 wrote:Something to also consider though is that the Saints didn't have the money to extend him either and I think he was either in his last year or had been tagged.

Not sure he'll go on the PUP, before TC started not only did Shanny say Banks had to play WR, at the same presser...... he said Brown HAD TO BE HEALTHY to make the team.
Today
Today
Shanahan said he will be talking to Jammal Brown when the tackle returns from NY, and then disclose their plan of action.

We would have to give back the fifth we got, that we used to draft Niles Paul. So you can't just say he cost us a 3rd. He and Niles Paul cost us a 3rd. Doesn't sound as bad now, does it?cleg wrote:Was it a 3rd round pick we used on him? I was excited at the time but wish we had held on to that pick now.

Below is the deal for Brown which was tied to the performance of McNabb.cleg wrote:Was it a 3rd round pick we used on him? I was excited at the time but wish we had held on to that pick now.
We ultimately gave up a 3rd for him but got the Saints 5th round pick in 2011. That 5th rounder is still on our roster since that entire class is sans Neild on injured reserve.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5306133Washington owes the Eagles a third- or fourth-round pick in 2011 for McNabb, based on how the quarterback plays or the team performs. If the Redskins win nine games, go to the playoffs or McNabb gets selected to the Pro Bowl, Philadelphia will receive Washington's third-round pick and New Orleans will get Washington's fourth. If none of those happen, the Eagles will get the Redskins' fourth-round pick and the Saints will get the Redskins' third-round pick.
If New Orleans receives Washington's third-round pick, then the Redskins will get a 2011 fifth-round pick back from the Saints. However, if Washington's third-round pick goes to Philadelphia, then the Saints will send a 2011 sixth- or seventh-round pick back to the Redskins.
There is also a conditional 2012 sixth-round pick involved. Should Brown play 90 percent of the plays next season or get voted to the Pro Bowl, Washington will send its 2012 sixth-round pick to New Orleans. After Saturday's trade, Washington has six picks left in the 2011 draft.
