Wouldn't it have been cool if we....

Post by Redskins4Life »

I'm bored out of my mind right now, and on my Madden 2004 franchise team I acquired Brian Urlacher and him, LaVar and Marcus tore up the League! Wouldn't it have been cool if we had drafted Brian Urlacher when we had the chance a couple of years ago? Instead we got Samuels who didn't perform well at all last season and even though he's good, wouldn't having Urlacher just be about ten times better? Think about how great our D would be today!

samuels and jansen and the rest of the line will be much improved this year.under spurrier we were in pass protection mode every down.with a run based offense they will be able to attack instead of getting the crap kicked out of them they will be doing the kicking.REDSKINZ4EVER!!!

Yeah, I agree... Samuels is a very skilled offensive lineman and we owe him a shot in a system that knows more than passing=good

Urlacher had a down year last year! I know he made the Pro Bowl but he only made it b/c of his name same applied to Warren Sapp. He is very good but Samuels is also a Pro Bowler and he will have a rebound Pro Bowl caliber year this year with Bugel running the O-line!

Our line was good enough to run the ball last year with Spurrier, it oughta be great under Bugel.

A lot of people forget, but I think Sporting News and had us in the top 3 offensive line rankings before last season.
I keep telling all those fans of other teams that are saying our O-line is in trouble, watch out. We are going to wear out some defenses this year.

i think these guys will love the new offense too. lots of running, moving downfield, being aggressive. that will only improve their play that much more. you've got me all excited now.

I'd want Urlacher and Pick for Samuels. Samuels is pretty good.

Also, if you get on NFL.com, go to the picture gallery for our last game against the Eagles, and it has an awesome picture of Chris Samuels smashing Kalu and knocking his helmet off.

AND arrington, and bailey. the only player the skins had represent that was worthy was coles. pro bowl is a popularity contest.... that said, AGAIN...............

LT's are worth more than MLB's. but problem is, whiney played as good or better than samuels, for a tenth of the price. IF chris plays to his full potential, he IS worth more than urlacher. but if i had to choose off last season's performances, i'd have to choose urlacher. he didn't just loose washington, he lost roosevelt colivin too. he can't do it all, but his sideline to sideline speed and tackle ability is UNREAL, he almost never misses, or is caught out of place. chris actually had a BETTER supporting cast with the additions to the line.

but i blame every problem the team had on spurrier. he was the HC and his job was to win games, which he didn't do. i'll wait till this seasons over to decide which guys need to stay, and which are just dead weight. My 2 cents

Urlacher is so over rated its not even funny, he is a good player, dont get me wrong. But I wouldnt put him in the top 5 linebackers in the league.

Who are your top five? Other than Urlacker, I count Ray Lewis, LaVar Arrington, Derrick Brooks and Takeo Spikes as premier linebackers...

i'd take Washington out of there and move urlacher to the 5th spot and throw spikes in at number 3....

I'd even rate Spikes and Arrington almost even... w/ Arrington having a little edge because of his potential..

I'll give Urlacher the benefit of the doubt but if he doesn't return to form then he's probably a fluke....

but what do i know :P

I preached that on this forum like 2 weeks ago Chris Samuels is a bum "sorry jake". I hate it when teams draft tackles that high in the draft.[/quote]

Dat Ngyun? Not sure. Maybe.

LaVar Arrington knocked Troy Aikman out of football, right? Yes. I'd be angry. He is very good, so don't say he isn't.

Marcus Washington? That is iffy. He is in the top 10, not sure about the top 5.

Umm i dont think i said anything about arrington son, also if you really think that he knocked troy outta football then i got a bridge to sell you. Troy would have probally went to philly later that year and got hit in the head with a snowball and that would have ended his career also.

Questions, for you, actually;
1. Didn't Troy already have a ton of concussions?
2. What are Dan Ngyun's major stand out performances? I've heard some good things about him, before.
3. What do you think about Troy Hambrick?

Also, sorry for misinterpreting your comments.

Dat Ngyun is good, but not to five. The bottom line is whether you think Urlacher is overrated or not, he is still an elite linebacker. As far as I'm concerned, there is Ray Lewis and everyone else. I think Arrington and Urlacher have the potential to reach that next level, but right now, it's all about Ray "Not Guilty" Lewis...
