No Chance Landing RGIII

Post by bigricky »

This is just my opinion and no I have no knowledge into the thoughts and minds at Redskin's park. But RGIII is really trending now that he's done a few interviews and completed is measurements.

Last year when first mocks came out a lot of the experts had tag us with landing Cam Newton but after the combine and his personal workouts no only didn't we have a chance landing him but he wasn't getting past Carolina with the first pick.

It's no secret that the Rams are willing to trade the 2nd pick in the 2012 draft and it should be no secret that they are going to reap the rewards of the hype centered around RGIII growing popularity. They will be looking for the best deal and we can only pray that Cleveland lands Manning and Miami lands Flynn. I strongly believe that if the price gets too outrageous that we'll start looking towards plan B.

Not sure how this means we have "no chance" of landing RGIII. We're in the mix as much as anybody else.

I agree with you though that RGIII's sky high stock is only going to keep going up with performances like this. He's an impressive guy with a ton of confidence. I'll be really curious to see if he causes the Colts to reconsider their pick. Hard to imagine, but crazy things happen around draft day.

There was a GM, and I can't remember who but he said that RG3 was a better fit for Indy than Luck.

4.38 40 today at the combine. Just adds to the fact he blew folks away in the interview process. He can be had, but we have to make a serious play. I saw an article yesterday that Cleveland may not be willing to make the type of bid necessary to get him. This is no time to be meek. Go all in to get the guy to lead the franchise for the next 15 years. We are at a rare moment when we have a real shot here. I'm OK if Luck is a consolation. I believe for our offense he is a consolation and RGIII is the perfect fit to do what the Shanahan's want.

Me either - not unless this will make his price go up because more teams will want him so much they will up the ante for the #2 pick to the extent that we will lose interest - if we even have interest - which I hope we do.

Heck, Luck ran a 4.59. Several smallish WRs didn't run so well.

Luck's stat's are very comperable to Cam Newton's. Not too shabby.

As MDS pointed out earlier in the day, each guy ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds. That matches Newton’s best time from 2011. On Sunday, Luck sprang 36 inches vertically — that’s one inch higher than Newton 52 weeks ago. In the broad jump, Luck covered 124 inches. Newton flew for 126.

From a stature standpoint, Luck isn’t all that much smaller. He’s six-four to Newton’s six-five, and Luck weighs 234 pounds. Newton tipped the scales at 248.

Of course, Robert Griffin III may be more athletic than either of them. Which could compel the Colts to take a much closer look at whether Luck is the right choice with the first overall pick.

As much as I want the Skins to move up and take RGIII, if the Redskins are sitting at #2 and Griffin is OFF the board.... I seriously don't think I'll get upset.

Either Luck or RGIII are going to help the Rams get a lot for that 2nd pick
AND either QB looks like he'll be worth a lot at #2

We have to hope that the Browns add Flynn - IF that happens they're not going to give up what it's going to take RGIII

it's going to get expensive folks - I like them both but .....
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
