The Feel of the Game

Post by DarthMonk »

I did not get to watch the game. I'm hoping for answers to a few questions.

What was the feel of the game before and after these events:

1 Moss' injury.

2 Drop by Gafney.

3 Failure on 4th and 2? at 40 yard line.

Also:

How did Beck look?

Thanks,

DarthMonk

Ehh.

Are you kidding me? He just missed a pass thrown right to him! Also, had we taken a knee we would have went in tied up at the half.

Same ol' same ol'.

First quarter he looked very rusty. He only threw for 54 yards in the first half but then again they only ran a pass play 12 times. The second half he looked spot on, other than the INT he threw, which IMO was caused because Hankerson ran the wrong route. He took us down the field 80 yards in four plays for our first TD, and did it again four our second TD. Give him time, I think he'll be just fine.

1. It felt like the Skins were going to lose the game from the very beginning especially after Cam ran for 25 yards.
2. Beck looked ok but certainly not a franchise qb - may be servicable.

A few thoughts. I think the drop was not nearly as bad as the fumble.

Beck played two opposite half's of football. He came out in the 1st half very jumpy in my opinion. Once he settled down, he started doing some things. He was quite accurate but we had a number of dropped passes and quite a bit of pressure b/c of the line.

In the 2nd half, it looked like they made some adjustments to open things up a little bit. Most pass plays seemed to be intermediate routes w/ the TE's or in the middle of the field about 10-15 yds down.

Moss injury hurt quite a bit b/c it took miss-matches away. Moss is very good in the slot on 3 WR sets and we don't/didn't have the guy to make a play.

All in all, we were always playing from behind and the only thing I felt like we needed to take control of the game was to get a turnover or a big stop by the defense. Total team loss but defense did nothing to help us and the run game was non-existant after Hightower went out.
