Cam Newton to destroy Washington Defense
You heard it here!
I am willing to place a bet on this game that it happens. Any takers?

I don't think he'll destroy us. Just look at the facts that our defense is actually playing pretty well. Where Cam will give us issues is with his own run game. I'm not worried about Williams and keep in mind it looks like Olsen isn't going to play either. So now you're down to Steve Smith and a bunch 3/4 WR's. Cam is the only concern here.
Cam Newton is exciting but he's not going to have an easy time scoring much with our defense
I don't think that this is a blowout for either team
- we are not a high scoring offense - our defense will keep the Panthers offense in check
Redskins win a close, low scoring game

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

OK - let's just clarify this - you're 'betting' that the Panthers will score approximately how many points?
please clarify

I think that this game could go either way but I do not see a high scoring game

let's hear your reasons for predicting that Cam Newton will "destroy" the Redskins defense

Dear Mr. Newton, allow me the PLEASURE to introduce to Mr. Orakpo and Mr. Kerrigan
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I can't wait for the day when our beloved franchise is consistently good enough that fans of ridiculous franchises like the Panthers would not feel empowered to talk trash. And isn't it about time they ditched the areana league looking teal and silver uniforms. Goodness what a joke.

If I were a kitten fan I'd be happy to have gotten cam but get real... His stats will be worse then week three I see at least two picks maybe a sack fumble. He hasn't faced a top ten D yet and we are one. Also Vick is a Vet in the nfl to whom Cam would like to be like one day- aside from killing dogs. Vick sure didn't destroy our D. Hell the cowpukes are a much better team then the kittens and we held them to NO tds. You might wanna do some research before you bet the farm buddy. I'd be willing to bet but don't see how that could even happen on a forum

I will take it.
Here's the deal:
IF the Skins win, you acknowledge that the Skins are the better team.
In the unlikely case that logic and reason are defied and the kitties win, I will do likewise.
Deal?

You are wrong about the cowgirls being better on offense, the boys in electric blue move the ball down the field way more better. Now if you said Philly then you would be right on. This is one of those C'mon moments.

OK - I'll take this bet - here's 'the deal'
If the Panthers & Cam Newton 'destroy' the Redskins this Sunday, I'll come to that web site and declare that you are a very knowlegeable NFL fan and that I don't have a clue about how good the Panthers & especially Cam Newton are this year
If the Redskins win OR lose a close game, you will come back to this thread and declare that you do not have a clue about how good the Redskins' defense is this year
If you agree to the 'bet' AND do not 'honor' 'the deal' - I will come to your web site and call you on this

And this is based on?
A new QB nobody has much film on. I guess?
jWell I'm not sure he will be more of a hand full than Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers. If he is, then the Skins are on their way to becoming a #1 offense.

Mr. Fashion show,
Beck is an unknown. If he has a good week in the next 4 or 5 weeks it will be this weekend. Teams have virtually no film on him and won't know where his weaknesses
are.
He doesn't have to be as good as Rogers or Breese, since they have plenty of tape and defenses know what few weaknesses they have.
When I saw that your team drafted Cam #1 I was hoping and praying he started from day one so there would be plenty of tape on him.
He was great the first two weeks when no one had any film, but now that there is some film, he has been less than spectacular. Still good for a rookie qb, but not a
player that would scare me.

When you say less than spectacular, he is still ranked 4th in total yards in offense. Also to can of help you understand he has attmpted 229 passes and poorly threw roughly 18% of the passes and 12% of the passing a defender made a good attempt to deflect the ball and 3.9% of his passes were intercepted wth 5% dropped by the receiver. Add onto the fact that the offensive line hasn't played well and those are decent numbers for any quarterback let alone a rookie.
So for you not to give him his props is a step away from hating. I know it's been a long time since Beck has touched a football during a game but the stats he has from years back is all I can go on.
Preseason doesn't really count because teams aren't laying their cards on the table so to speak and players make mistakes trying to prove the belong on a team that might be their last shot.
All of us that get to watch the game will see what Beck is capable of.

The Panthers aren't very good at stopping the run. I see one or more of our running backs having a good game. And Beck is unknown with the exception of one quarter of play. So how do the Panthers prepare for him by watching film?
And it was just a hypothetical question anyway.
