Will there be....
the same criticism given to Jason about fumbling and holding the ball given to Rex too? Just curious because Rex lost two balls last night with one being the game clincher for Dallas.
Everyone talks about how much of veteran Rex is but yet he lacks the pocket presence/feel for when defenders are close.
Just asking....

Who cares?
The real answer is that it depends on whether or not Grossman wins more games than he loses or not. Tom Brady threw 4 INTs on Sunday. I haven't heard anybody talking about Good Tom/Bad Tom the way they talk about Grossman.
JC unfortunately didn't win jack. You can hardly blame people for complaining about him fumbling the ball in losing games.
We'll have to see about Grossman.

I think Campbell was criticized primarily because it was felt that he could somehow improve his ballhandling skills. With Rex, it is a part of his identity and his supporters as well as his detractors seem to agree that it simply has be accepted as an integral part of his game.
Was there anyone watching the game last night who didn't see that fumble coming from the moment the defender began to to close on Rex from behind? You just KNEW there was no way he was either going to throw the ball away in time or hold onto it if he was hit.

If you're asking that question you must not have been listening to local radio today.
Rex was getting crucified for turnovers before he ever took a snap this season.

That is such an absurd comparison. Brady has three rings, is a first ballot hall of famer, and as much as I hate to say it the best qb in the NFL. In 16 starts last season Brady turned the ball over a total of 5 times. Rex, in 3 starts, matched that number. People talk about good Rex and bad Rex because that has been his MO throughout his entire career. Comparing that to one bad game from Brady is insane.
The fact of the matter is that Rex is a turnover machine. Right now he is on pace to turn the ball over 26 times this season. Only Eli Manning had more than 26 turnovers as a qb last season, by comparison.
Rex has started 6 games as a Redskin and has not made it through a single start without turning the ball over at least once. In four of those games he's had two or more turnovers. We aren't going to win games against good teams if he keeps turning the ball over at this pace.
The two games in which Rex has had only one turnover we are 2-0. In the games that he's had two or more turnovers, we are 1-3.
Suck and Luck

No way -- especially because the Rex fumbles have been completely different than those we witnessed by JC. Most of JC's fumbles were a result of him sitting in the pocket too long and making mistakes. Rexs' two have resulted from him running for his life. The fumble at the end of the Dallas game was a fumble that the vast majority of QBs would have made. The one against NYG should have been avoided -- but Rex was the reason we won that game -- how often could we have said that about JC?
Then again, if you are going to make the comparison, you have to also include the benefits the player provides -- otherwise, a guy like Favre was just a TO machine and nothing more. In reality, Grossman is a better QB than JC. He currently has WAY more passing yards (an avg of 100 more yards PER GAME), TDs, and a higher passing avg. JC has a a higher completion % and QB rating.
Meanwhile, JC also (as of this year) the best OL in football to protect him. He has only been sacked 2 times this year (tied for first) and has only been hit 7 TIMES (tied for first only with GB). OAK also has the leagues #1 rushing offense -- which I am sure has a direct correlation to his high completion % and takes a TON of pressure (not to mention opportunities to mess up) off JC. Meanwhile Rex has been sacked 8 times (tied for 23rd) and hit 20 (tied for 26th).
With all this being said, I don't think that many look at Rex and say he lacks pocket presence ----- ESPECIALLY because he was OUTSIDE the pocket when he fumbled against Dallas. And as the stats (and from watching the games) it appears that defenders are always close to Rex. After all, Rex gets some of the worst OL protection in football.
No matter, Rex does turn the ball over too much. But Rex isn't the future -- we looked at JC as the future. Regardless, I would rather have Rex over JC right now.

Don't be such a d-bag. I didn't compare Rex and Brady in any way. I just said Tom Brady can get away with throwing 4 INTs because HE IS A PROVEN WINNER. You can say the same thing about Brett Favre.
Rex is going to get hammered for his INTs and fumbles because he hasn't won jack. At least he has been to a Super Bowl - unlike Jason Campbell.
Love how Chris "Luva Luva" and CanesSkins26 get all bent out shape by someone even mentioning Tom Brady. Didn't mean to offend anybody's man crush.

You don't have one. You didn't get it. If you had, you'd have known who I was referring to though.
