Practice Bubble

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

I'm shocked to see that nobody has made a thread about the coming practice bubble. Honestly, I'm pissed about it. It should be up already... It should have been erected during Gibbs second stint but he didn't want it. I for one think it's a necessity.

I'm kind of split on it. One part of me believes they should practice in the elements so they can get used to it for game day precipitation. The other side of me is like, dag, what if they slip and get hurt during a dag gone practice?

They don't practice in the elements, though. They cancel practice or do a modified walk through indoors somewhere, like they did yesterday.

and that's not all... they can't truly practice in a gym. they cant punt, or truly tackle on a gym floor. so it's a glorified walk through.

on monday, they practiced in the rain, so they dont go inside when it's drizzling. but in circumstances like this, a bubble is necessary. it's one of the reasons why this franchise sucks like it has.

let's move into the "now" people. that macho, we're gonna practice in a thunderstorm crap should have died with Joe's 1st retirement. the 80's are over, deal with it.

You would think they could put up one of those state-of-the-art practice facilities that all the D1 schools have now, but a bubble is fine for now.

All teams need a bubble. You can practice in some rain, but when it's a monsoon and you need work, the elements interfere with practice.

So far this year, the Redskins would have missed 5+ OTA's due to in-climate weather. And they would possibly miss a majority of the mini-camp this week without the new bubble. As in years past, they'd be practicing inside of an airport hanger, which I'm sure is very condusvice to learning.

That being said, thank you Mike Shanahan for getting this organization out of the 90's in regards to it's facilities and into the early 2000's. I look forward to them getting everything up to current conditions.

the point about getting away from the old ways of doing things is right on

let's face it - the old ways were great and we all enjoyed some great moments but the NFL of today is very different

time to get with the new NFL and give our players and coaches the best chance to prepare and play

I'm in
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
