Devin Thomas on the Comeback

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Is this a serious thread? I keep thinking it is sarcastic but I'm not sure. He is back because he has 5 catches for 43 yards in the preseason?

This is not a serious post, but thought some of you would want to keep up with what he does. I personally like to keep up with what all ex Redskins are doing.

His catches were in the 4th quarter and the score was a blow out - Giants vs. Bears.

I thought the Title would raise some eyebrows and make you smile.

I noticed that his kickoff return stats hasn't been posted so let me post them. He had 3 Kickoff returns for 138 yards against the Bears. Here is one of his runs.

Instead he's just talking smack that he knows he can't back up....

“Until I make that [final roster] and they put me back there in the first game against them Deadskins, then I will say it’s my job,” Thomas said of the team that drafted him in the second round in 2008 before releasing him last season.

Be GREAT if D Thomas can make the Giants roster

they can't be that bad off in the areas that they think he could help, could they [-o<

I really don't want the giants to fire Tom Coughlin at the end of this season & bring in a good coach - but they probably will
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'm interested ONLY because we will play him twice and the stuff he's talking, I want to know how he's doing in preseason. They have Hicks and Manningham, still searching for their true #3 WR (all this cause Steve Smith is gone). If Thomas gets to be that 3rd WR, we'll be playing vs him and not just on special teams.. so yea, I want to know what he's up too being that he's in the NFC East.

With that said, I hope he makes the team so someone can crack him

Thomas is still behind Maningham and Victor Cruz, the preseason sensation from last year. That makes him third string.

D. Thomas was a beast yesterday!! One return for 21 yards. He was ballin', how could we have been so stupid as to let HIM go???!!!!
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

I think it was fairly evident that D Thomas is probably not going to help the giants much ..... if at all

I didn't come across any interviews, but that is probably because Devin is too busy working to fine-tune, cuz that's just how he rolls. I am sure that Devin is thinking that if he is on the team come December 18th, he will put the hurtin' on those damned deadskins.....

he is one bad mammajamma!

The same week that Fred Davis says he wants to "Make Vinny look good" for the 2008 draft, Devin Thomas says on Twitter that he will retire

Does it count as retiring if you've never done anything?

Seriously, though, I thought he was on track to get things going a little more after last season's special teams work in the playoffs.

He got hurt in December, and signed with the Bears in March (before trading for Brandon Marshall while drafting Alshon Jeffery). Somewhere in between he got a Super Bowl ring and now he's done. Without really doing anything.

Devin Thomas' career ends with 43 receptions (40 with the Redskins) three touchdowns, and a Super Bowl ring as a special teamer. He had his best years in Washington although he generally considered a bust.
