There is no proof anywhere that we signed Shayne Graham.

From rotoworld one hour ago:
The Redskins are reportedly "closing in" on a deal with free agent K Shayne Graham.
Graham will be competition for incumbent Graham Gano, who hit an ugly 68.6 percent of his field goals last season. Graham is still only 34 and has made 86.0 percent of his chances since breaking into the league in 2001. Aug. 1 - 9:25 am et

Cool, Gano didn't make one.

Shayne Graham - K - Redskins Redskins agreed to terms with K Shayne Graham.
Graham will compete with holdover Graham Gano. On field-goal accuracy alone, it's a slam-dunk in Graham's favor. Gano does boast one of the strongest legs in the league, but that takes on less importance under the new kickoff rules. Related: Graham Gano

YAY for Gano.... I like that kid and hope he stays consistent throughout the season.

Any reason why the FO would bring in more competition? I hope not cuz Gano seems to be solid for us.

What happened to Shayne Graham? Why was he so bad Friday night? I thought he would beat out Gano and win the job. Hopefully Gano can keep hitting them.

Really? Shane Graham is the third most accurate kicker in the NFL and Gano was one of the worst last year. Maybe age? I thought he would make it, but just looked ugly Friday night. Hope Gano keeps hitting them...

ANY Kicker who misses from less than 30 yards needs to be cut. My only concern is..... "What took 48 hours for it to happen?" Someone else should be brought in each week if necessary to keep Gano sharp and SCARED of losing his job.

Redskins Cut Shayne Graham

Post by riggofan »

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/foo ... _blog.html
The Washington Redskins have cut auditioning veteran kicker Shayne Graham two days after he missed a pair of field goals in Friday night’s preseason opener, a source confirmed.

Graham was trying to unseat Graham Gano, who struggled last season but made all three field goal attempts on Friday.

Graham, the third most accurate kicker in league history, had struggled in practice last week and couldn’t redeem himself Friday. It wasn’t immediately clear if the Redskins would bring in another kicker to compete with Gano.
Hard to disagree with this move after his awful Friday night. My only concern about this though is that Gano wasn't much better last season.

Hopefully they'll bring in another kicker to continue to push Gano.

Danny Smith say the kicking issues haven't been solved so it sounds like they'll bring in somebody pretty soon

Wow, you beat me to it. LOL. Anyway, I kinda expected that after that chip shot FG he missed.

Gano didn't instill confidence in me when he hit the upright on the 45 yarder. I am glad he made all three, man, is he cutting it close.

So why is Gano still with the team, remember last year against Tampa Bay? He was horrible, If he wins the position, hope does better this year.
